We are trying to find a solution here not the reasons why he had to do a BIOS upgrade. You can always downgrade to your previous BIOS version if you like. But for your question that is probably something that cannot be changed. This has to do with the manufacturer. In general, when you set your computer in sleep mode, most of the devices of your computer are shut off, in order to save energy. But the crucial and vital devices that keep your computer data, like your Power Supply (PSU) and your memory are still working. So if you have the case fans directly connected to your PSU then you cannot shut them off in sleep mode. The only way is to connect directly on the mainboard so they are getting the voltage from there and when your computer goes on sleep mode, they will automatically shut off - (you can find adapters in the market)

In theory all the parts must be protected from electrostatic discharge. That means if you touch something with bare hands and without the proper protection or preparation there is a possibility that your device will be "fried" from electrostatic discharge. You do not need to store them somewhere special just keep them away from heat and more important, from humidity. I suggest you use the antistatic bags that the original packages provided (from the manufacturer). Before touching a computer component I suggest that you discharge yourself by touching a radiator.

I hope you are not kicking your computer while you are playing!! Aside from the joke kicks can be hazardous for your hard disk (especially when the hard disk is working)

The native resolution of an old 32 720p is 1366x768. Some newer models can reach up to 1920x1080 but thats for 1080p models. But thats a different story. I need to know more information about the connections you have made. Tell me if you have connected ONLY the television or you have a computer monitor also connected in dual view mode. Also which game you are trying to play? Most games give you the option in the VIDEO SETTINGS to change from 4:3 (standard monitors) to 16:9 (wide screen monitors) - dont forget to select the second one.

I cannot suggest you a specific model because models change very quickly. I would suggest you go for LG, Full HD thought. Go for the cheapest model you can find with those features - do not fall for the contrast marketing trick (e.g. dynamic contrast 10.000.000!) LG got great prices, provide great service (with 0 pixel warranty). I personally own an LG 42" 1080p Full HD (42LG5000 model). It is perfect for gaming and watching T.V.

The monitors that are sold on the market do not need any drivers. The only use of these drivers is that you get the name of your monitor in the Device Manager analysis. So if you don't mind for brand name and model appearing on the device manager then you can just leave it as "Default Monitor". Some monitor manufacturers provide a software that can help the user to choose the "recommended" Brightness, Contrast, Gamma Correction and Color temperature depending on the user needs. BUT I suggest that you remove these programs, because you can get better results by just adjusting those settings by yourself. The yelloish color you are getting is probably a wrong setting in the color temperature. Restore the default settings on your monitor and make the adjustments MANUALLY from scratch.

It depends. If you just use a set of stereo speakers and you are just listening music on your laptop then you will not notice any BIG difference. But if you play games and you have a surround speaker set, things differ. You will get higher sound performance in games, less CPU usage and of course all the goodies from Creative's equalizers and last but not least, EAX support.

System disk error... hm.. that sounds like bad sectors on your hard disk. Try doing a check disk on your hard drive. Open the Computer option from the start menu, which will display all of the drives available to scan on your PC, right click on the drive you wish to scan for errors and select "Properties". Now click the Tools menu, then "Check Now" under the error-checking section. You have several options within the check disk tool. It is always recommended you leave the "automatically fix file system errors" box checked, as this repairs and problems found. If you want to perform a deeper scan, tick "scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors". This second option takes longer, but is worth doing if you suspect a drive problem. Once you are configured, click Start. If you try to check a disk that is currently in use, you will receive a message asking if you wish to schedule a scan. Accepting this will perform the scan next time you restart your PC. Try this first and give us a feedback.

Well it's a legit copy, also I don't have a different OS. So would just trying to install the 32 bit work? Also would going into bios and turning off the lan adapter and then restarting and turning it back on would that do anything?

michael_brennan

If the LAN/Network adapter is disabled on BIOS it is common logic that windows will not be able to detect your network card. If you enable the device, windows will find it as a new device and automatically install the drivers. As I said you don't have to download and install drivers for the onboard network card. If you cannot solve your problem I suggest that you buy a network adapter (they are very cheap - less than 5€) and install on an empty PCI slot. I do not suggest sending your Mobo to Asus because it will take forever. Most motherboards have 3 years warranty, I suggest that you do RMA only if the motherboard has a serious problem and cannot be solved by yourself. Asus told you to re-install windows because like I said on my previous post first you must determine and be 100% sure that the software is installed properly. First you check your software then you go hardware.
