GTA's great but none of the games in the series have been good enough to warrant a GOTY award imo. As it's a sandbox-type game, the most fun you can get out of a GTA game is created by you and isn't specifically implemented by the devs so they don't deserve all that much credit for players' playtime.

I mean, I'm sure the devs didn't actually mean for me to go around stealing taxis for hours on end. They get no credit for the time that I waste due to being a thieving asshole.

@WehrmachtBear I think they're doing just fine at killing themselves already. I mean, their design team's already come up with the excellent concept of charging real money($1) for virtual ammo.

If you ask for rape, you are providing consent. Though it would still be terrible if somebody foolishly took you up on it, it's still partly your fault.

They also need to try hiring decent programmers. The practices I've seen in some 'AAA' games' engines are absolutely appalling. I've barely learnt C++ and even I could already write better code than whoever writes the latest game engines /:
