@valknight @CynicalCaviar You're right about the PS4's GDDR5 only being slightly faster than the Xbox One's RAM setup (in practicality, when you consider the X1's ESRAM cache).
However, GDDR5 has been around for years and is used in most graphics cards. It's certainly not untested. It has some issues, including high heat emission but I'm sure Sony's engineers have factored such into the specifications. (the RAM is probably slightly downclocked and the console definitely has a lot of vents)
I don't think it's going to bring a 'whole new experience' but it certainly has its benefits, especially in the interface department.(you can have basically a long-distance touchscreen)

That's a very loose prediction. Yes, technology advances quickly but unless light or biological tech is made viable in the next couple of years, I highly doubt it will be possible to create chips that powerful at a mobile scale affordably for at least another four or five years.
