[QUOTE="Gears_Fiend"]You bring up some very valid points, however if Nintendo did capitalize on what the Playstation merely tapped into, then why does the PS3 and 360 have more 3rd party support then the so called more larger casual gaming audience of the Wii?
aemena
You have to stop seeing the 3rd party support from a hardcore gamer point of view, yes the 360 and the PS3 have more 3rd party support for HARDCORE GAMES! but for casual games the Wii has a very respectfull 3rd party support, and it is what people in this forum call shovelware, but that's what the casual market BUYS!! for them it's not shovelware, for them is family fun! it's a good afternoon with friends! and that's what Nintendo is after! they want no gamers to come and play a Wii, but they won't come if you give them MGS4 or GeOW, it's too complicated for them, they want an easy way to play and have fun, they don't care about graphics, controls, framerate, HD, sound, lasting appeal, etc. they just want to have fun.
Whenever I don't have a game to play in the Wii, I have my 360 to fulfill my needs, so I never stop playing! and that's the the story for most us hardcore gamers that have a Wii. That's why I said in my first post that I have the best of the two worlds, 360 = best for hardcore games Wii = Best 1st party and casual games!
How can I complain??!!! I like hardcore and casual games, and I have the best two systems for that!
So in other words Nintendo is taking advantage of those who don't know enough about games to check reviews and the quality of games before blowing $50.00 of their hard earned cash per game and $250.00 on the Wii, such as certain parents and grandparents who buy the system for their kids and grandkids but are stuck with trying to decide amongst so much shovelware that they just blindly spend money because the Wii is so cheap and it has a gimmicky motion sensor controller.
Well, yeah okay business is business but that just means they just want the fast and easy buck and could care less whether they have or hang on to a loyal fanbase, because even within' my own little circle of life i know 6 friends and family members, not including myself that have already traded their Wii in because of the lack of good games.
So i guess it's all on how you look at it, you can either buy a Wii and settle for a handful of good games and lots of shovelware titles or you can get the most for your money and buy a 360 or PS3 and get the vastly more supported consoles with first and 3rd party support not to mention superior HD graphics and online play. To most people that would be a no brainer, but i guess when people are strapped for finances and can't afford anything better then they buy a Wii, but wait that doesn't add up because there actually throwing that money away because of all the low rated shovelware. So c'mon admit it you know what the smarter purchases are.
