Yup it's been confirmed, the new upcoming PS3 160gig is a mere 40gig with a 160gig hard drive tossed in it.

Sony's got some nerve charging $499.99 for a larger hard drive and still no backwards compatibility , no sd slots, only 2 USB ports.

I mean the whole point of this release was to compete with the Xbox 360 Elite right and it's recent price drop, but what else is Sony offering because the Elite comes in a nice flat black with both HD component and HDMI cables right out of the box, an included headset, backwards compatibility and a nice hefty 120gig HD.

Sonys just offering a 160gig HD with Uncharted Drakes Fortune which is nearly a 2 year old game, i mean who is this supposed to be enticed into buying this ? what a joke, Sony is really getting desperate.

Hey guy's 360 Elite owner here, i'm wondering what else this new PS3 coming out this fall will have aside from a bigger hard drive, if it has the same hardware and backwards compatibility and sd slots as it's old 60-gig model i think my precious Elite won't be at the top of the heap anymore.

I mean i know that us 360 owners are getting a completely new graphical interface to replace the blade system this fall with a software update but will that be enough to compete with PS3's Home software update combined with their new 160-gig system.

I just don't know, Sony can slip in to the lead with all this combined with certain exclusives and our looming R.R.O.D problem, it's times like this where i worry about having made the right choice my self or even sliding down to last place in the console wars.

Hey guys all i keep hearing is this hype about Resistance 2's 60 people per match online capabilities and how Resistance 2 will again dominate the online play over Gears 2, just like their predecessors.

Now i hope it's all just pre-release hype and that neither will be better than the other but if one had to be, then i wish it would be Gears, do any of you guys know the full scoop ?
