[QUOTE="rawlu"]I feel reviewers (not just gamespot) all underscored LO,JUST BECAUSE ITS TURN-BASED,IMO. & because of the TEST-DISC (or whatever?) they all used to review the game, that all had excessive loadtimes etc that the final retail versions dont.
why are they not RE-REVIEWING LO because of this? is what id like to know. their final ABSURDLY LOW score of 7.5 should not be just left their knowing full well that the defective disc's they used to review the game MUST OF reflected the final score.
LO deserves AT THE VERY LEAST an 8.5?,id give it ATLEAST a 9.0 myself because I LOVE TURN-BASED RPG'S/games & im LOVING LO! :-)

So you're biased, surprise surprise. Does it really matter what score it got? The game is selling quite well and I doubt a review score is really going to push anyone over the edge to go play this game. You either love JRPGs or you hate them, an 8.5 instead of 7.5 isn't going to make anyone love them.
I don't think people have an issue with the score. I think they have an issue with why it got the score. Turn based combat and long load times. The long loads weren't in the release and criticizing a jrpg for having turn based combat is like criticizing gears for having gun fights. It is what it is. It's part of the genre.
But you're right about the love it or hate it. If people don't care for jrpgs they probably aren't going to like LO. But if people like games like FF or DQ then they will probably like LO. And it's getting really great word of mouth so that offsets the luke warm reviews. My personal feeling is that the reviewers missed the mark. But that's just me.
The main criticism surrounding the game has to do with two things - lack of innovation, and loading times.
The combat system is turn based, and very reminiscent of JRPG's of old, as are the setting and characters.
And the loading times? Well, that one explains itself..

You know what I find funny? Is that they can criticize a game for lack of innovation and then praise another game for lack of innovation by saying "if it's not broke don't fix it" or " they were smart not to screw with the formula."
I think it's less about lack of innovation and just the personal preference of the reviewer showing through. Because if innovation was so important to them they'd be pointing it out in lots of other games too. They need to be honest. Most games don't innovate at all. But that doesn't mean they aren't good games.
It really annoys me that people like Assasins Creed so much even though it was the most repetitive game I have ever played, so if you do not like it either can you post it on here and say why you didn't like it.
Thanks.

I'm not sure what it was but I played the first few levels and put it down. I haven't played it since. It just didn't grab me. I'm sure it's a fine game but it just wasn't for me I guess.
To the TC. The game is kind of hard. On the bosses I usually die once or twice until I figure out what exactly to do. The random battles are usually fine but can still wipe your party if you're not carefull.
[QUOTE="Ket87"][QUOTE="simo98088"]Im finding the battles extremely difficult, Ive put 4 hours into one freakin battle and I still cant beat it...
Im currently going backwards trying to level up...
simo98088
What battle?
grand staff...the big worm which i did beat eventually but then I could not beat the soldiers with the archers after that...
Im at level 16..
wow, really? I was a lvl 14 and beat that on my second try. just make sure you take out the bugs first.
[QUOTE="brianpoetzel"][QUOTE="theweakbear"]What does it do is it a falcon but even better? Awww man I don't want to have to wait for that to come out...MayorJohnny
It's pretty much the sum of all the improvments made. The falcon has a 65nm cpu but still a 90nm gpu. The jasper is going to be a 65/65 unit. So, yeah, i guess you could say that it's a falcon with a smaller die gpu. It should help a lot with keeping things cool too.
So much better should the Jasper model be?
I'm going to buy an Xbox 360 soon. Will the Falcon model be okay?
From what I can tell, the falcon has fixed all the major issues like rrod. So, there's really no need to wait for the jasper if that's what you're worried about.
