@hastati4 When I went to E3 in 2005, I nay shat myself when I saw the demos of Barbarian Invasion. RTW was my favorite PC game EVER for pretty much all of modern gaming.

@Halloll As long as I don;'t accidentally kill my own 10 star generals with cataphract elephants again, I look forward to their return.

Micromanaging needs to stay - the game was perfectly fine the way it was years ago.

CA here's how to make this game an 11 out of 10:

1) Bring back 40 unit armies from Rise of the Sam

2) Do not put in Brutii, Julii, Scipio, SPQR as these are not realistic - Rome's territory and resources were not controlled by separate families during the Republican era, they were all controlled by Rome and directly by their local governors, who were subservient to the Roman government (for the most part).

3) Don't put in the testudo formation until late imperial times

4) Apply the current morale system to the generals and units, including a noticeable change with the Marian reforms which greatly increases the morale and efficiency and reliability of non-auxiliary units.

5) Keep the same talent trees and ancillary structure from Rise of the Samurai.

6) I would also consider a sort of tech tree, limited as it may be, as Rome was definitely innovative and capable of splendor as we all know.

7) Please bring back street view for the cities.

8) Please also bring back the 9 9 9 (you know what I mean cheat code wise) that allowed for golden armor and weapons and full experience - not the cheat code itself if you don't want but the actual capability to have units that strong.

9) Bridge building and entrenchments would also be wonderful and certainly historically accurate options for generals and units

10) And please, please, please, have historically accurate equipment - the shields need to be shaped like era appropriate Scuta, not like Hollywood late-imperial square scuta. If it goes into imperial period, the shields should change accordingly as well as the armor, for example from lorica hamata on to segmentata or lorica laminata, etc.

@CastorT Roman times actually consisted of every Persian empire that existed. They just weren't powerful or global enough in the earlier centuries to come into conflict with Cyrus or Darius or the remnants of Alexander until later.

@Thereisnotri I spent soooooooooooo many hours playing RTW oh my god. It is still the best of all the TW games, with Fall of the Samurai maybe half a step lower.
