[QUOTE="The_Game21x"] The Old Republic is a new franchise. It is not KOTOR 3. Therefore, the 360 never actually lost the franchise. Again, you can't lose something you never had.The_Game21x

Bioware says SW:TOR = KOTOR 3,4,5,6,7, and 8

That's nice. It still technically isn't. More like a spiritual successor. Plus, it's an MMO. Two very different genres there.

That's like saying an MMOFPS is very different from an FPS. Same genre, just multiplayer

Just heard from a friend that the Pacific Mall in Scarborough, Ont is having a sale on their special Xbox 360s this weekend.

*NOTE. You will likely have to be asian or accompanied by an asian to take advantage of this sale.

Senor_Kami

LOL, please explain

If you have ever been to Pacific Mall and tried to buy their discounted goods there, you don't need any explanation

I am so confused, all I realized is that the TC is so wrong and needs to get his facts straight. TOR is definitely not KOTOR 3, KOTOR 3 was never planned. Mythomniac

Sorry, but according to Bioware, SW:TOR = KOTOR III

From the SW: TOR FAQ on the official website

Will I see any characters from Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic?

Given that it is approximately 300 years since the events of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, many of the characters have passed away. However, their legacy does live on as many of their descendants will be part of Star Wars: The Old Republic. Some droids can last a long time as well.

Here's some facts for you.

  1. SW:TOR is part of the SW: KOTOR SERIES
  2. Up until SW: TOR, the SW: KOTOR SERIES was multiplat (Xbox, PC)
  3. Since SW: TOR is PC only, the Xbox franchise has lost the SW: KOTOR SERIES as a multiplat

Danm_999

I fail to see why #1 is such an entrenched fact. The Old Republic is set 300 years after KOTOR 2, features none of the characters of the original series, and is in fact an MMORPG.The only similiarties are that its set to the Star Wars universe. Seriously, that's drawing a long bow. Using your logic, I could call Star Wars Universe, or the Force Unleashed, part of the series, because hey; they're Star Wars games.

Sorry, but Bioware has stated numerous times that characters from KOTOR I and II will be in SW: TOR. Some will be holograms (characters that are no longer alive) but you may see some characters that "live" longer around from KOTOR I and II in SW: TOR. (Particularily one that likes to refer to mortal people as "meatbags")

I just guessing here but perhaps because the better JRPG game can be had for less then half the price...

:P

So what's taking Losy Odyssey so long to sell 1 million units? Arent Xbox owners grateful to Mistwalker for giving them an exclusive RPG?

so sales are the determining factor in what makes a game great?

No, but it does say alot about the playerbase when they woudl rather play games like Gears of War and Halo instead of Lost Odyssey, Blue Dragon and Final Fantasy XIII

Revolution316

everything is racism with you. i for one am treated like a king in PM. great mall

I would go there more if I didn't hate the traffic on Kennedy and Steeles around it. Seriously? 4 lanes? You can get super cheap games there if you know the right people

I dislike it because of the parking. :D

The deal is awesome though. It's something like a special Xbox 360, + 5 games of your choice for $329.99

But it ISN'T.. It will not be the same kind of gameplay or character interactions.. Its as ridiculous as claiming that WoW is a sequel to Warcraft 3.. It ISN'T.

xXDrPainXx

The Old Republic won't be like WOW with meaningless, trivial quests and endless grinding. It will be an MMO with a personal story for each player, with dialogue choices ect.

Didn't Age of Conan try to achieve this same premise? It won't be another MMO it has a story! sadly that game is awful and I have a feeling the Old Republic isn't going to be any different then any other MMO out there. Hell I'm still waiting for a rich community driven MMO like Pre-NGE Star Wars Galaxies but yet nobody can seem to deliver on that either and Old Republic isn't going to be any different.

No, Age of Conan tried to incorporate "mature content" in an MMORPG.

Personal Storyline is possible in an MMORPG. Refer to Final Fantasy XI, and Aion: The Tower of Eternity
