Fair enough with the hog; though if you're off the ground, surely the impact of a bullet would indeed tip you over...? As for the BR; that's exactly what i'm talking about. The spread is wider, so you need to lead shots to make get maximum effectiveness. It was made that way deliberately to be harder to use, seeing as Halo 3 has less auto-aim and less noob-friendly assists, they had to bring the BR in line and make it less easy. It was literally a simply point 'n shoot gun with little skill to it at all. I think it's much better the way it is.

Like i said, i wish people would simply get over it and accept that it's a little tougher to use now. It's not like they gimped it.

Ninja-Hippo

Funny thing is, I am absolutely better with the new BR. In H2, if I had a BR in my hands, it meant I was an easy kill for the next person I saw. Seriously, any other weapon would have been better. Now, in H3, I'm actually kinda decent with it (by my standards. I'm terrible at both games).

I forgot about double EXP weekends. Sometimes they do indeed require the maps. But the normy ones do not, and never have.

Also (Grive), you say your friends said they needed the heroic map pack... that's the free one isnt it?

Ninja-Hippo

Apparently, yes. I had forgotten that part. Smacking them silly seems to be the answer here. Big, rather dumb confusion, I guess.

Eh? They have a separate DLC section for the maps. You can play all of the normal playlists (including team slayer) without buying any maps at all. You only need the free ones.

Ninja-Hippo

Really? I haven't noticed since I do have the pack, but two friends complained about "requiring the heroic pack" for ranked team slayer when we connected to play during bungie day...

Must investigate, and if necessary, smack 'em silly next time I see them.

I find jumping up and assassinating the gunner of a warthog as it drives past to be possibly the most fun/satisfying thing in gaming, ever. :P

Ninja-Hippo

That's quite... evil. I love it. The absolute WTFness of the moment for them makes it.

I'm guessing no, not really. Would be strange to go from multiplat to exclusivity. Everyone should get a chance to enjoy the game - it's worth a very wide audience. Wouldn't call it the best the xbox has to offer, though.

bioshock 2 is ms exclusive..look it up anywhere..hopesfall2own
Really? Hadn't seen anything about it.

I like playing to play it split screen at my friend's houseStephenHu

Halo splitscreen is the very definition of epic. Too much mayhem is possible and encouraged. The scoring in Halo 3 makes for some fun diversions, too.

There's just something about smacking that #"$!#"$! when he steers the warthog you're machinegunning from into a ravine, thrashtalking over a couple beers.

My Halo splitscreen or system link sessions are always a source of unending laughter and fun until everyone drops unconscious from the beer and exhaustion at very very late in the night.

I'm guessing somewhere around 7-7.5.

I played the demo, learnt to love it, understood the mechanics and adapted to it. However, it's marred by a plethora of technical, artistic and design issues, along with a control scheme that is frankly poor - while you can eventually wrestle it into working very well, "wrestling" a controller should never be part of the process.

yeah but at least they had the map packs otherwise the multiplayer would have been much more disappointing. Halo 3 had the worst stock maps ever, which is seriously odd, considering the pedigree of the other Halos.DrinkDuff

Well, my issue came mostly with the separation of playlists, where you're unable to join some lists (like team slayer) without the pack. It wouldn't affect me personally, but I have friends who aren't going to pay an extra $7.50 for the maps, and losing them did hurt my enjoyment of the game.

Personally, Kojima studios. I feel the whole MGS series suffers from the Evangelion effect, where the storyteller seems to believe in the old diplomatic maxim: "If you can't convince them with reason, baffle them with nonsense". I hear MGS4 is quite an achievement, but I've yet to try it - so my opinion might change.

Other than MGS, they've done some some decent but mostly forgettable stuff.

Are they bad? nah, not at all. And I guess I can see where the fans seem to come from... but the unrequited love for the man (since Kojima prod. is highly dependent on Hideo) and the work seems to be quite out of proportion.

i have halo 1-3... i think they are indeed overrated. does that make me a fanboy? does it make me a fanboy that i prefer more superior fps? i am more of a pc gamer i suppose, but spoiling myself in what i believe to be much better fps make me a fanboy?

Rage010101

No, but sidestepping the argument makes you suspiciously resemble one. Nobody is claiming that Halo is perfect and unbeatable and whatever. Call it overrated if you wish - I disagree, but to each his own.

However, saying that Bungie is overrated because "they're only the halo developers" is nonsense - and that's what Ninja-hippo was decrying. What about myth? Marathon? Pathways? Abuse? Pimps at sea, for cryin' out loud?

I absolutely love the Halo series.

Halo:CE is always near the top of my favorite games list, and depending on how I feel atm, at the top of the shooters category. Too much fun was had with that game, especially in co-op and LAN madness.

Halo 2 was very fun. Nothing particularly memorable, but very, very fun.

Halo 3 is somewhere in between. An awesome game, absolutely fun, and memorable... but it's no Halo: CE. And I'm still a bit pissed at the shenaningans bungie made with the map packs.

[QUOTE="Adonymous"]

Sony just announced today that they've shipped 14.41m units...yet on VGChartz...Sony has sold 14.51m PS3s to consumers :|

hmm...

st1ka

and they have made graver mistakes then that, the problem is if we exclude GV charts we are left with nothing but the monthly NPD, at least this way we have some measure of knowing how they are selling

t's better to wait in the dark for dawn than to follow the first light you see towards oblivion...
