Besides tactical (e.g. RB6), it's mediocre crap... Please, I beg of you, stop buying this garbage and feeding the beast.

Maybe if Sony stopped trying to screw us, (i.e. the longtime loyal fan base), we might come together to support them in hard times. However, with Sony's full embrace of increasing profiteering and anti-consumer practices I say 'good riddance'...

Nota Bene~ Microsoft isn't any better... They all deserve a major lash back from us, the gamers. In this modern world, only money walks and bull**** talks...

Absolutely will not purchase a PS4 or 720. The reality of these Trends in the industry are too much for a serious and loyal gamer of 20+ years like myself. I am going into PC and old system back-catalogs once the Gen4's are out. Just too many anti-consumer and profiteering practices... I feel really sorry for the next generation of gamers... Sorry guys and gals. Good Luck

@heroboy1 This seemingly "articulate" argument is clearly choosing to ignore the foundation of most of EA's behavior post 2010... profiteering. E.G. posting DRM profits at ~ 1bn USD in the last fiscal year, yet, is actively encouraging the destruction of used gaming (online passes) and nickel and diming gamers to ridiculous extents ( like DLC's in Tiger Woods, SSX, NFS, etc...). I don't know how long you have been gaming, but after watching 20 + years of this industry.. Yes, EA is truly ruining gaming. So, good luck with the continual purchase of their product, and perhaps when you paying $150-200/game (near future) with all the "content" perhaps then you will stand up. In the meantime, it takes a community of thoughtful consumers to simply boycott these kind of horrible companies that care about industry expansion and the profits of content versus a quality experience.

ohhhh god..... This stuff is exhausting, because so much of the bull**** is true. I miss the ol' days of gaming when bad behaviors (like EA and SOE) had no place in our (visible) world.

@The_GooBear You know what??? I completely agree with you.... Lately, I ditched all my modern consoles for either repurchasing old ones or go to serious PC emulation, and at this point I'm not looking back. I refuse to partake in a system that exploits it's base margin for the expansion of profiteering practices.

How are these statements "hyperbolic" in any tangible sense.? Following the trends and logic of the modern gaming industry, these are now easily tracked trends that most major titles adhere to. For example, a lot of Bethesda's "amazing" pieces where over-priced, low-rated add-ons to popular titles. Moreover, to be perfectly and explicitly clear, that's not an analysis of my personal opinion, but a statistical consensus among many reviewers and gamers alike from a large spectrum. In conclusion, the DLC problem is a major issue, and not something to be understated. I hearty disagree with the thesis that this Op-Ed represents any sort of biased hyperbole.

@ dreamfist11 Its called real journalism. The point is... the analysis of real-time issues that are wholly important and need to be explored in detail. These issues (e.g. DLC, DRM, online passes, etc...) are a big deal and need to be brought to light and discussed, which GS is doing a brilliant job of lately. It really shocks me at the complacency of most individuals wanting to read the same **** that only regards point-by-point break downs of trailers, interviews, and screenshots. I really suggest you guys check out the linked GDC rant from the last article. He's specifically talking about you..... It's also amazing how people are complaining about a series Op-Eds, which is a standard in all good news media... Although, since I am sure most of you complaining about how "stupid" this is get your info from Facebook and Youtube, I am sure you are foreign to the concept of journalistic analysis. I suggest you check out NPR and PRI sometime as a thought experiment... Altough, I am sure you're too young to remember what that is, and think interfaces like Facebook and CNN represent
