The main point of the article to me was all the proprietary BS that Sony is letting get out of hand. It's one thing to have PSN games that are outrageously priced (classics excluded) because you can just avoid those, but to have a new device where all the externals are exclusive to Sony is simply ridiculous. As for the comparisons, I believe he was doing it to make a point about how handheld/mobile gaming is fundamentally changing in the wake of devices like the iPhone. We can except this or not, but facts are facts. The age of extremely powerful smart phones is changing both the demography and behavior of gamers on the go (like myself after 20+ yrs of gaming). With DRM, DLCs, and online passes Sony (among others) is quickly losing both my loyalty and business. Sony products are becoming a thing of the past to me, which is sad because I have been a hardcore loyal fan since day one.... Such a shame...
Its EA, so nope, I'll pass. I don't think I want to pay 5.99 for a jacket or some special stats board. The nickle-and-diming has gone too far and I am sure SSX will be just as bad. Unfortunately, I loved the old SSX and this looks really, really great, but I refuse to support EA for what they have done to games.
Here we go again. ****ing corporations doing everything they can to control us here in the US. Democracy is dying in our country and Plutocracy rules the day. btw SOPA... you're going to just piss off a bunch of hackers who are much more intelligent then you are.... Good luck with that
I have found battle magic and sneak attacking w/ bows to facilitate the best experience in Skyrim.... the sword stuff is still floaty to me, but magic and arrows have a nice, visceral feel to them.
How true is this?? Completely in so many ways, and really rings true in the light of issues the the reformulation of PSN policy. It seems (like most contemporary business models) that the maximization of profits comes at the cost of reducing benefits for consumers. I cant recall how many times I was excited about an iOS purchase only to realize that the .99 cent "sale price" was only to get the app on my phone. How many mobile games require you to rate to earn in-game cash, or (as previously stated) purchase features piece-by-piece. The new EA games come to mind for me. Its really sad....
