im all about your idea but i also think that there is a reason that you dont see many arcades anymore & that is mostly b/c the newer arcades cost $1.00 or more to play...
we are in an economy where no one has that kind of money to play a game...
personally i dont drink anymore...
i still go to Ground Kontrol & i dont see those issues that you would deal with in a regular bar, such as fighting or people getting super trashed...
arcades also mainly dont exist due to, kids being able to play these games at home for free...
so there is no urge for them to go...
you could burn a good profit making it into a retro arcade bar, over just an arcade...
i totally would love to see your dream come true but the reality is that the older generation are the ones that love those old school games...
there is a small percentage of kids that would dig it for all of its great glory...
you would most likely see more adults in there than kids...
you could also limit your bar to only server beer or drinks that arent easy to spill...
im pretty sure that Ground Kontrol also does this with their bar...
i wish you all the best of luck...
there is alot of great ideas that you can do with this...
@Spartan-1775 @CHROMEFLAMIN id rather give my money to Amazon, GoG, Steam, or some other store, other than Gamestop or Best Buy...
for old games that have been out for a longtime & that you cant find on store shelves, then i go to ebay & half...
there are other ways to support developers that dont mean you pay money for crappy service & lies...
you dont have to pay people to get things that you dont want, or that arent acceptable. its your choice whether you choose to be treated that way. personally i would have taken offense to it & been upfront in telling them, that it is against the law to sell used items as new.
places wont return things for open but they can open it themselves & stop you from returning them. in all honesty, this is their way of screwing the buyer.
id rather be happy when i purchase a new product than disappointed...my guess is that you werent as enthused as you were, after you bought it. it takes the excitement away after purchasing something that youve always wanted & then see that its not the way you expected the condition to be in when you purchase it. for that, i do sympathize. i like the open box experience & the joy that comes when purchasing something new...
