It also includes microtransactions and online advertising. the PC alliance says they include these numbers because places like NPD don't track it. But if NPD doesn't track it, then those revenue aren't included in the console number either. Therefore, what are the console profits if we add in microtransactions (ie. Home, horse armour, alternate costumes, themes, etc), online advertising (how is this even counted as "software sales"), and subscription fees (ie. XBL fees, FF11 and soon FF13).

In other words, in my opinion, the PC Alliance is once again stacking their deck to create the illusion that game sales are skyrocketing while console sales are dropping. The fact that you're still bashing PC gaming because it isn't 5390457349857 times more profitable than console gaming is damage control as well.

So basically, the real software sales(Retail and DD) count for50 to 55% which is $6.5 billion or more which is divided by 3 (NA, Europe, Asia) $2.2 billion dollar for each territory, which is a small percentage compared to consoles.
