Well I know people complain that games get remade for the PSP but personally,I don't mind. I haven't played all of those games listed so to be given a chance to play them with updated graphics is a good thing for me. My ONLY requirement for a psp remake is that the developers take the time to make sure they are giving us a good game. As I said before I haven't played many of those games and I just want to play good games so if doing remakes is the way to gurrantee some good psp games then I have no problems with that. Some games like Mega Man X I'll even play again because I liked the SNES version so much, and given that its been several years since I played it, it'll be fun to revisit.

[QUOTE="HappyProzak"]I have to disagree with the bad battery life of the PSP though. I've never been in a situation where I felt I needed more battery life, but I'll be honest and say i use my psp mostly at home. But sometimes I do some long gaming sessions and im surprised by how much battery life is left. I am use to seeing 3 hours of battery life standard on a laptop though so I'm sure that has something to do with my perception.

The battery life is bad, for a handheld console device, and it doesnt last much longer when playing music. Its fine if you have easy access to a charger, but for example it wont even last 5 - 6 hours of traveling, which is a pain. Also, i often forget to put it on the charger, since it goes in my bag when i go places (i bike a lot) and i use it for music pretty much the whole time im away. Whats more, is that the battery life drops considerably over time (its at least an hour shorter, for my 2 year old battery). Overall, its very annoying, its not something that makes me dislike the console, but i wish sony had put more time in making a decent battery.
Battery technology hasn't changed a whole lot over the past few years, and you can't blame Sony alone for that. Also, there aren't any handheld video game devices out there that have the kind of power the PSP has, so there isn't anything out there to compare it too. Also, the PSP has a large screen so that takes up a good amount of power. And going back to batteries, Sony can't put in a better battery because lithium batteries are the best for this type of application. The only thing Sony can do is put in a bigger battery but of course, space on the device is limited. Do you have a second battery? Because changing batteries on the device is really easy and a second battery isn't much to carry around. People complain all the time about poor battery life in laptops, but manufactuers are constantly working to lower the power consumption of devices, but they are stil limited by battery technology. The only thing you can blame is the lack of new battery development.
theres 2 problems with sleep mode :
1) It uses more power than is ideal. I know its not much, but theres been more than a few times ive tried to tun the thing on and its dead. This is also due to the terrible battery life of the thing, tho.
2) You cant use sleep if you want to use the psp while youre not playing - in particular, playing music (as i do).
I kind of just argued against my point above lol. So, i say again, games should ideally have longer sections and missions etc for the added depth and stuff, but also have short stuff for playing when time is limited. Either that, or have lots of chances to save.

I never thought about not being able to listen to music etc. when the psp is in sleep mode and you can't save, simply bcauseI use my psp just to play game, butthat's a good point to make. Adding too many save points can be a problem though.

I think all developers need to do is add a save anywhere optionin most of the games. The only problem with that, is it lessens the difficulties in some games, or add more save points in games, etc. rpgs. I can't wait for FFT cause it should have a save anywhereoption, if its similar to FFTA, it should have a save in game option so i can choose to play for 2 hours, progress the story line alot, or just play half a game, save in the middle and pick up later.

Isn't this what the PSP's sleep option is for? At least thats what I use it for. I usually play in long sessions but sometimes I'll only play for around 15 minutes. If I'm in the middle of something I just pause the game and put the psp on sleep and then I'll come back to it later.
I usally play in long sessions and short sessions, I don't know why they would make short session games though, unless short session games like wrestling where you can play a match then quit, but then that would be stupid atleast to me they can be long session games where people who do play short session games can just pause and cut it off, ever think of that?redman100111
Well one of the things I didn't like about Metal Gear Solid PO was that Konami restricted the games to short sessions so the levels never felt connected the way they have in the other Metal Gear Games. And Konami said it was important to have the game played in short sessions, although I think this was an excuse because developers find it hard to stream data to make a large world. Although I think Tomb Raider Anniversay has done an excellent job.
I'm disappointed as well about the lack of DMC for the PSP. I've been waiting to hear some news and see some screenshots ever since it was announced. Capcom was one of the biggest supporters for the PSP coming out with street fighter alpha 3, mega man maverick x, mega man powered up, ultimate ghoules and goblis etc. but it seems things went sour because very few Capcom games have been released recently, and I'm guessing sales were poor and as a result Capcom has pulled support.
Despite this, IGN has DMC listed for a 2008 release for the PSP so maybe there is still hope although taking 3 years to finish a game for the PSP will make it seem like it is vaporware. I'd also like to see Capcom release a true Viewtiful Joe game on the PSP
Ok, my first question is if the psp slim is more comfortable, or less comfortable to hold, or is it the same? Having something be slimmer is good for portability, but I'm thinking this will lead to more hand cramps,so I'd appreciate input from someone who has owned both.
Also, can anyone confirm if there is less ghosting on the newer psp? I'm looking to hear back from someone that has actually done tests with the old psp, thanks.
I made a thread a few weeks back asking the same thing and I didn't get many responses. There are some of us who are interested, but I think Sony thinks there isn't a big enough market to bother bringing the software over which is pretty unfortunate.
I would think that if they are having problems with things like homebrew, that they would give us psp users reasons not to hombrew like giving us the option buy their gps unit and software instead of having to prirate it, but I'm sure they think its not worth the investment, oh well.
I believe the UK is getting gps software now, so maybe there is still hope.
What's the volume like on a PSP? The DS Lite's volume isn't so loud, I'm just curious because a big reason I'd be buying the PSP is because it plays tunes. If it can only go as loud as a DS Lite, not really quality tunage, there.bretthorror
Use headphones dude, the volume on the psp isn't any better than the volume on the ds lite. If you want to listen to music through it but want it to fill your room, then you should get some portable speakers and connect it with a line that goes into the headphone jack.
