Do you plan on using this on the go? I ask because despite its portability I use my PSP only at home. But if you plan on doing some gaming on the go then it's definately worth it. If your question is, "Since I have a PS3 will PSP games be good enough to compete against them for my time?" Then my answer is I don't know. I'm kinda going through the opposite dillema, since I game mostly at home I'm wondering if I'm better off just playing consoles. I made a post asking how people divide their time between console and handheld gaming so you might want to look through my history and find that post as it kinda deals with this.

Honestly, don't get more than 2 or 3 of those games simply because you'll be so busy with 2 or 3 that by the time you buy some of the others chances are they may have dropped in price and you might still have them shrink wrapped.DS games that are out of stock go up in price on ebay, which is lame but its the cost of sticking with solid state memory, but Sony uses the umd drive which is much cheaper to make than nintendos solid state memory cartridges.

As a result even launch PSP games can be found new in factory seals on ebay and they don't fetch ridiculous prices and still cost about $20 bucks shipped

So anyways, my recommendation would be to buy 2-3 games that you know you are going to play and once you get through one or two buy the next ones, have fun.

Videodogg

yeah i d have to agree with him, id even say by 1 or 2 of those games, like stated above, you probabley won't be playing all these games at once. although it may sound cool to have like 5 or 6 games at once, you should focus on playing 1 or 2 of those games.

Yeah, your probably right. Its just the excitement getting to me...i always over-endulge when i get something new.

I got the same problem. :D

One of the benifits of sticking with handheld games is that I can afford more games and I have all the hardware (gba/ds/psp) and I might splurge and update my old psp to a slim, but not until my precious grips are released for the slim.

Do these silicon cases make the PSP easier to hold? I find the sides dig into my palms after a while. I bought some nakiworld grips which do a good job but they add a bit of extra weight and the rubber smell to them gets annoying after a while. Maybe since these silicon cases are softer they would help, can I get some feedback please?

Where are you getting this price from? Is this an announced US package that will be coming out? Do you have a link? Or is this a Japanese import that may have a huge markup because its from Japan and only available in limited quantities?

Well I have to say I'm pretty surprised by the polls. I hope we get a few more responses, but it seems the majority of people play handhelds most of the time or at least divide the time equally between consoles and handhelds. I haven't played a console in a while, I stick to my psp/ds/gba pretty much exclusively and was curious to see if others might as well. I've been thinking of selling my handhelds and games and going for an hdtv along with a ps3 or xbox360 but I'm starting to wonder if its really worth it. The main factor keeping me back of course is cost, even if I sold all my games and handhelds that would probably only be enough to get either an xbox or a ps3, and then of course there is the cost of the tv, although it would double as a computer monitor for me which would be pretty nice. I already have a decent sound set up too so I could make use of it. I haven't played a console in a while but if the games aren't a whole lot more fun than they are on my current handhelds now then I guess it isn't worth the cost.

I'm going to give my vote to Metal Gear Acid, I really loved that game when I first played it. Personally, I really liked the card based combat. A very close second is daxter.

Well its hard to tell just when the PSP will be replaced by the PSP 2. We don't even know if there will even be a PSP2. Nintendo ruled the handheld market for a really long time and theydidn't release a newer handheld in 5 years the way we see with consoles. Now that Sony has entered the market it remains to be seen whether or not we'll see the usual 5th year update, it may actually be longer. There are a lot of good games yet to be released though so the PSP should still have plenty of life left in it.

So for those of you that play consoles and handhelds, do you find the games on say the PSP good enough to distract you from console gaming? Or do you play your handhelds mainly on the go?

I'm just wondering how many if anyone plays games mostly on their handhelds. I'll go ahead and define mostly as meaning that you play video games about 70% of the time or more on a handheld such as the psp, nintendo ds, gba etc.
