[QUOTE="mickyplankon"]Can anyone provide a convincing reason why it is NOT?casharmy

because Demon's Souls is the better game.

also some people might like not this type of game.

No, Demon's Souls is not better. Anyone that says that didn't play Dark Souls over 150hrs and do everything, there is soooo much more to do in Dark Souls. And for the record, I love Demon's Souls, I own both Black Phantom Edition and Deluxe Edition still sealed.

After playing Uncharted 2 last year, I discovered that that series is not for me. It was as if it was designed to go against what I enjoy in gaming. Definitely not my cup of tea.

The two that stood above everything else last year was Rayman Origins and Batman Arkham City. They were both brilliant in every way. A couple of the most well designed and polished games you'll find all gen.

Arkham city polished like Uncharted 2 or 3?? Um, yea, Arkham City has screen tearing so just no...

hey guys, im thinking about picking up demon's souls, but i what are some thoughts and opinions from you guys about the game, is it good or no? and such

thanks in advanced!

Yes, if you're into dark fantasy medieval RPG's that are extremely challenging. Demon's Soul's requires a tremendous amount of skill, patience, concentration, and most importantly, time, in order to progress. It definitely varies from person to person depending on your skill as a gamer and your experience with the genre, as well as if you use youtube or online walk throughs to help you on your quest. The game has an amazing combat system, beautifully varied level design, awesome monsters to slay, lots of exploration and loot/armor/weapons to find, and the entire game is just pretty much tense dungeon crawling while slaying demon's to level up and progress. Then, there's the online. I won't go into that too much as the servers may not be up too much longer, but you can do your research. It's my personal game of this generation along with Dark Souls but most certainly isn't for everyone. Some people like myself are absolutely in love with the franchise while others detest it in every way. You can certainly get it incredibly cheap so why not go for it? Don't buy it if you don't want a true challenge where you will have to adjust and get used to the game's mechanics though, Demon's Souls plays by its own rules.

[QUOTE="Rod90"]It depends on the person . Not becuase the internet says a game is amazing means that you will enjoy it.V4LENT1NE
This, for me games that are pretty challenging to the point of annoying and cheap arent really fun. Last game I played like that was the Dead Rising series, just annoying and didnt enjoy it depsite how many people liked that franchise.

Never compare Dead "Escort Mission" Rising to a brilliant game like Dark Soulsagain, ever.

Worth it. Worth it. Worth it. Worth i.t Worth. Oh, did I say Worth it? It's very challenging, but it's simply amazing. My personal GOTY. Worth every penny.orb_03_2006

Even though they're both different IP's, I consider Dark Souls and Demon's Souls to be the same franchise, making it my personal favorite franchise of this console generation.

So I am playing through Gears of War 3 (one of my new favorite games of all time) and I just reached the part where Dom sacrifises himself to save the team. Well, I bawled for a few minutes after seeing that. Call me wuss, but I just cant stand to see a character who I care about die. Here are other video game deaths I have cried about, and some of them weren't even main characters:

Cole / Zeke - Infamous 2

John Marston - Red Dead Redemption

Pilot dude with the ponytail - Battlefield Bad Co 2

Gat - Saints Row 3

Jeff the Cameraman - Uncharted 2

Just about all the characters - Heavy Rain

Bambi's Mom - Bambi ... wait nvm thats not a video game

No, I have never had emotional attachment like that to a fake character. I was disappointed to see John Marston die in Red Dead and Soap Mactavish in MW3, but not upset as in sad, more so disappointed that the Devs would create an amazing character and then kill them off just like that.

Get used to the words "YOU DIED".

You will be seeing them. More than a thousand times.

spec78

This post is no exaggeration. Without any help you could very well die in excess of a thousand times playing through the entire game.

I completed the first one and it was a good game, but I won't waste my time with Dark Souls. I know what I'd be getting into and I don't want that.

Rent it first; it is an unrelenting game and it takes copious amounts of patience and focus.

Blueresident87

That's what I initially thought but I couldn't help myself. I'm 80hours in and only a little more than halfway through. But, your post is spot on.
