Literally nothing like Fable or Skyrim whatsoever... I suggest you watch some gameplay videos or rent it before you buy Dark Souls as you clearly have NO idea what you're getting yourself into with this game :P It's extremely difficult and requires a certain kind of gamer to truly enjoy. Very niche.

Haha yup tis true, I almost quit several times, now I'm simply addicted, braving the lost city of Anor Londo facing DragonSlayer Ornstein and Executioner Smough, it's harder than you could imagine.

I don't think the problem is me, I've been a gamer for a long time and consider myself above average in most games. I also beat most of my gamer friends in local multiplayer matches in any game. But whenever I go online in any game, Battlefield 3, MW3, Marvel vs Capcom 3, FIFA, etc. I do pretty badly. Why are there so many hardcore gamers online? Why can't there be as many average/casual players? Are these online/hardcore gamers seriously basement dwellers? Because whenever I play my regular friends, they aren't half as good as most online players. Solid_Snake325

You're playing against people that generally play nothing but said game. If you just pick a game up to play online competively once in a while, you aren't going to do well. You're playing against people that play all day and you're basically right with the basement dwellers comment.

OK, so this game is no "Dark Souls" or "Skyrim", but is anyone else pleasantly surprised by the demo? I thought I would check it out for a minute and delete it (as I do with most demos, these days), ended up using the entire 45 min. cap on the demo... And I really liked a lot of what I saw. A few minor glitches (to be expected in a demo, and nothing game-breaking just more like a hiccup). The graphics really catch my eye, the colors and such are trippy, and I can't wait to delve much deeper into the character leveling, crafting, and options that open up with the skill trees...

... This is written by Salvatore, right? The story seems like it's going to go into detail in the tradition of said writer, and the characters and world seem very fleshed out, even in the demo.

Are any of you diggin' on it? Does it make you :D ? Did for me. I don't see it being Day-One on my purchase wish list, but it's definitely gonna be in the library.

I thought it was awesome, I had high hopes it would be good. I also agree with you about the colors and artstyle. It's day one for me.

Since day one, it has SCREEN TEARING YOU MORON. Not that I expect you or any other BOT for that matter to understand what that is. See Gears of War 1,2,3 for more LOLOLOLOLOLOL.

Depends how dedicated you are to your games and what type of RPG you prefer. Dark Souls is a traditional Medieval RPG with tense dungeon crawling and tons of monsters to kill, rare treasures/swords/armor to discover and much, much more(I'm talking about the online, it's amazing). Add on the sadistic difficulty and you must be an extremelydedicated gamer that takesthe hobbypretty seriously to complete this RPG. It's not for the faint of heart and I suggest you play Demon's Souls first as it will introduce you to the game mechanics and it's not as brutal right off the bat. It's still damn hard, but at least it's dirt cheap so you won't end up wasting your money if you don't like it. Dark Souls is so much harder, longer, and at times unfair. I commend those that are able to beat Dark Souls without initially completing Demon's Souls. Deus Ex is sooo much different, it's a contemporary stealth action game with RPG elements set in the future. I personally didn't complete it but did play it, didn't like it and sold it back.

Demon's Souls, it's the best reason to own a PS3 in my opinion. Playing through that game without any guide or help will be the most pure game experience you will ever have.
