People have been saying they hated the MS point system since it's RELEASE. They obviously have the ability to change it since they are, which means they sat on it the entire console generation because they didn't have to change it. Now that there is competition they are changing it like they are finally listening to us, they are afraid we will not give them money so they have our interests in mind for the first time in years. If you buy the xbox1, they will have you. At that point you are committed, and they can do whatever they want.
Haha, it was dlc to begin with and has been in production as dlc for a very long time and people still whine that the dlc is coming too early. With year long breaks between games any dlc content has to be in production between the time the core game is in for bug testing, certs and production (takes months) or else it will be terrible or small since making this stuff takes time. I understand most people's dlc woes with some games, but seriously, at least form some kind of coherent argument against it. We live in the digital era of post launch patches, title updates and dlc where games only cost slightly more than they did a decade or so ago but inflation and cost of producing these games has multiplied exponentially.
Still not too excited about this even though I'm a fan of xcom... just don't like the time period and what the agents are wearing and there's a huge amount of things that seem to fly in the face of what xcom has always been about. Namely, the box that you can pull agents out of, which means as long as you have agents at base you can just refresh them at "checkpoints". Also the "main character" can't die or the game will reset you, so mortality is only for the guys you don't control it seems. I'm also really annoyed at how fast and "fantastic" the combat is with all the pretty colors and whatnot. Honestly it looks a lot like mass effect, but stuff makes no sense even in it's own canon. I hate it when games and movies do that... but I assume that is because this game is not for xcom fans, but TPS fans who would otherwise not play a game like xcom.
@DawgByte2 @JumpyLuweegee Do you not understand WHY microsoft is going forward with this campaign? They are in damage control mode for the xbox 1. Now that playstation is offering the features only available on xbox gold like party chat with ps4... xbox is trying to catch up.
Odd how this is "news". Each side is trying to get your money and support, neither would ever admit they are doing something worse than the other side. Although if the xbox 1 actually was as great as they say it is, you'd think they would have actually used it to run the games at e3 instead of running them on high end pcs.
Wider audience? Almost every time something like that is said it means more HUD elements, easier gameplay, less choice, more action and more shooting. Hopefully EA doesn't destroy another franchise... this is getting pretty stupid, especially considering they are buying up great franchises before running them into the ground half the time.
@Apastron Yea well... welcome to the internet. If you aren't picked on because of your gender, you will be picked on because of your nationality, race, sexual preference, or even just an opinion. Racism, sexism, extreme nationalism and sexual orientation are just catalysts people will use to annoy you. Sorry, but honestly there isn't anyone who isn't picked on on the internet... which is the only true equality atm.
@crazeon I believe that is why the biggest xbox vs playstation battle atm is hardware, drm, trading and pricetag. Since both sides are getting the consoles because of how they like the actual console... the exclusives are just sugar on top of whichever side they pick.
@Misterdragon78 problem is the guys that are fans of PS chose it in the first place because they like the games better. Personally the last time I enjoyed a halo gave was when I was in high school which was a decade ago, and I only played it for a day. I cant stand gears or halo and I don't like racing games.... the only xbox exclusive game of this ENTIRE gen I actually liked was just released called state of decay. So I was already in sony's park (currently own a 360) before the drm, always online, no trading, forced kinect, and extra hundred bucks in my pocket.
Since this is a xbox one vs ps4 thing they REALLY should have included all games that are coming to one or the other of those consoles instead of the titles labeled as exclusives. Planetside 2 is coming to ps4, but since it's on pc its not an exclusive so wasn't shown here.
