I might as well get this thread started.

My favorite Castlevania game is definitley Castlevania IV, with SOTN as a close second.

My favorite character would have to be Alucard, because he simply looks awesome and has that "I must kill my father" attitude which is deep and shows his bravery/dedication. Cornell is a close second, he just hasn't had enough attention IMO. I'd like to see him in some more games. The only thing that's preventing me from choosing Simon is his unwillingness to wear pants. I mean seriously. Fine in the 80's, but now it's starting to look ridiculous.

Least favorite Castlevania game would have to be Castlevania 64. It wasn't terrible, but dissapointing enough to stand out in what is otherwise a fantastic series. The controls and camera were pretty bad, and it just felt bland. At least Legacy of Darkness was a little better.

Also, one more thing I have to note. Anyone find it weird that different Castlevania titles seem to recycle their names? For example:

- Legacy of Darkness, Curse of Darkness

- Aria of Sorrow, Dawn of Sorrow

- Harmony of Dissonance, Harmony of Despair

- Order of Ecclesia, Order of Shadows

- Bloodlines, Rondo of Blood, Bloodletting

I know there are a ton of games in the series and eventually they run out of name ideas, but at this point it's just getting confusing!

I changed my mind. Curse of Darkness is the worst in the series in my opinion. The game's levels felt really bland and the combat was way too simplistic.The_Breadcrab

Darn, I though my thread would be a little more popular than this. Oh well, I can carry it for now.

Here's an interesting castlevania pumpkin carving:

Also, a cool techno version of the song Vampire Killer:

Enjoy!

Please refrain from multiposting. It would be best to use the "edit" function.

Just wanted to let you know Bread Crab.

@ kat an other fans: sucks that the games might not go outside of JP. hopefully they realize how much money they could make off of it.

@hush: I never been a big Halo 2 player. I guess the whole campaign turned me away from the game. That "humanized covenant" crap was stupid but oh well at the time i wasn't all that much into Halo, Halo CE excluded.

i saw a Simon Belmont Castlevania action figure for 24$...Yes i'll take pic when i get it next month.

archvile_78

Alot of my friends in high school played it. We got into it(halo ce) WAY after it released(i remember playing in the US before i left for jp...an then 3 or so years later i got it). every saturday we would go to my house an play it for a few hours before going out.

I liked a little bit of each. I havent played any other halo since 2.

and cool find on that figure...an you should post a pic...a certain number of people would like to see it.

@Hush: Once you play 5...you always go back to it sooner or later. If you do not mind me asking, what are ya going to Germany for?Seiryuu-

Yeah, 5 handles like 0 so i have no porbs with it. 4's control are "sluggish" to me. The thing i liked most though was the story of 5. really good for a fighter-simulator game.

and i will be going ot germany to visit my sister for christmas. going back to my homeland haha. *born there...but no citizenship

Hush: It can get boring something riding in a car atleast with the heilcopter or boat idea It would be more exciting. Serbine

yeah haha. the two longest car rides i had were North Carolina to Minnesota an Texas to Pennsylvania(to an from...sooooo long haha). and the longest flight is either US/EU to Japan, i think one leg of the flight was 18 or more hours once.

@sei: i am going to have to check them out. i think i am in for some more AC soon so i will replay 5 again. I also just beat the main story of MGS Peace Walker...so i may be getting the AC Joint Assualt 2 soon for my trip to germany in the winter.

E1! yeah, seems like you've been down and out for awhile there. Hope you start feeling better.

@serb: it was good and fun but i am at that old age where been in a car for too long makes me antsy and tired. its either that or just spending so much time travelling in cars and planes has made me not like it. i think i want to start travelling by helicopter or boat...but that is expensive.

but now i need to conserve energy for my trip to germany...

@arch: I used to play that game EVERY morning. one of my buddies always woke up at 5am and since he had a car he'd be at my house by 6 am. i hated him for it because i lost sleep but we would play co-op for an hour then we would pick up our friend down the block an hit up subways for breakfast before school. good times.

@polter: play those games buddy! play them!

How was it? o=archvile_78

Hush: Hope It wasn't too exhausting .Serbine

The trip was good. left Thursday night, got there an went to sleep. then Friday spent the whole day shopping in Chinatown and eating. Then on friday night drove back. Short trip but yeah...TIRING.

Hope everyone had a good weekend. a tragedy that its monday already.

@arch: i used to love the co-op on legendary with halo an halo2. good times. my friends an i came up with our 'el presidente' strategy to use in multiplayer from co-op. One guy goes into a room an lights it up while the other guy stays safe for a respawn in co-op. in multi the guy who stayed alive finishes off survivors. (this one came from anon-legendary difficulty...because i think if one dies you start over)
