mY laptop also becomes slow now and then (mostly after 3 months)...
dunno why , cuz i have avast antivirus security suite installed , still when i look at the taskmanager sometimes i have a whopping cpu-usage of nearly 100% ...
my guess i that it"S from all the movie/game downloading, cookies, spyware, etc ... nearly everyday ...
my solution is that you need to make an image from you"Re whole c-partition after a clean windows install (i use macrium reflect) ...
in my case it"S a nearly 10gb compressed image of the c-partition( windows os , graphic-card driver , browser, etc..).
So , when things get slow again , i can allways overwrite my c-partition with my PERFECT c-image in under 10 minutes ...
only thing you should not forget is to back-up any save-games AND update your graphic-card drivers to the latest version.

Okay...... So what your trying to say is, I back up everything on this Macrium reflect thing & then re-install my OS. Do I need to make 2 partitions or is Macrium reflect also on Local disk C? Cause I only have Local disk C right now. Last time I re-installed my OS I saved all my game progress on a flash drive, Which worked fine on all games EXCEPT for games that required a Windows live ID like RE5 & SFIV. When I re-installed those games It kept saying files corrupted. Anyway thanx for replying. Normally when I post this question I don't get a reply. which means what happening to me doesn't happen often & that people don't know the solution. It"S better to have 2 partitions indeed, otherwise you need to back-up full-size games or make an image with the much more complicated incremential settings.
my hd space on c is 150gb and on d also 150gb.
My games and the (compressed)FULL-back-up Image(roughly 10gb) of partiton C i"ve put on D-partition.
the image-backup ONLY overwrites partition c (OS), partition D remains untouched.
as for the saved games ...
keep in mind that save-games can be stored anywhere dependend on the game.
some saves are stored in so-called hidden maps wich you can make unhidden/visible ofcourse ...
for instance this path :
username/appdata(hidden)/local(hidden)
on my laptop in local are the savegames stored from 2worlds2 and risen.
and for windows-live some essential info is stored in:
username/appdata/local/Microsoft/Xlive
after installing the back-up image without the Xlive info from above it becomes corrupted.
ofcourse you must not forget to put the backed up savefile(from re5 and sf4/ssf4 ae) "CAPCOM" map back in Documents/CAPCOM.
Re5 and SSF4ae works perfectly fine on my laptop after putting those 2 maps in place.
btw. sorry for bad English
Your English is fine. + I got to fix the slow-mo games without having to re-install my OS. I used the OPTIMIZE function on my Disk defrag. I just hope the next time my games go slow-mo I can still fix it the same way, (I doubt it). Again thanx for everything!
