Also remember that the PS2 was a biatch to develop for and it turned out ok right? :Pblue_hazy_basic

Don't ever compare the PS2 to the PS3 ever again. That is blasphemous. The PS3 will never be in even the slightest bit in the league of the mighty PS2. Never say this again.

[QUOTE="Lionheart08"][QUOTE="Floppy_Jim"][QUOTE="Lionheart08"][QUOTE="Floppy_Jim"]

You should all be aware that the TC pretended to own a PS3 just so he could bash it, it's even in Lionheart08's sig. He doesn't deserve to be listened to, especially as this topic has been done to death.

Floppy_Jim

Fixed it for you. :P

(On topic) Also, when have people denied the PS3 is hard to develop for? I don't recall this being a common thing.

Heh, thanks. :P

But jeez, what's with all the fakeboys these days? First Reverse, then PS_John and now this guy.

Speaking of which, did he ever give his PSN ID?

(Back on Topic): People claim devs are being lazy when they choose to make multiplats a 360 port instead of building it from the ground up for the PS3. While it is cutting out hard work, in a way, it's kinda lazy too.

Nope, I just saw him in another thread and he STILL won't tell anyone what it is. What the hell is he so scared of?

As for the topic- if you look at last years multiplats, they were all notably inferior to the 360 counterparts. But as for 2008, all the big name multiplats are equal or even slightly superior on PS3. It's becoming less of a problem as time goes on. No-one is denying the PS3 is hard to work with, it's just that some devs (Naughty Dog, Infinity Ward) are simply better than others.

No, it's just that those developers have mega budgets, lots of employees, and lots of time to make the games good for the PS3. Think the PS3 will be getting a creative and unique, non-big budget, non-Sony developed small studio exclusive that actually plays decently anytime soon? The Wii and 360 have a far greater chance to get one than the PS3, and this is completely Sony's fault. Sony made a horrible, horrible mistake with the PS3, and it's blatantly obvious that Sony never intended for the PS3 to be primarily a gaming machine. in fact, they admitted this themselves.

I do it for the LULZ.

Also, for the feeling of inner joy, happiness, and satisfaction that I get seeing the enemy's exclusives flop.

I am so tired to seeing Cows blame "lazy devs" for their shoddy multi-plats, lack of AAAes, constant delays and cancellations, and mandatory installations found on PS3 games. Do you realize that most of these "lazy devs" are full of the most talented game designers in the world? With teams of brilliant people who literally work 15+ hour days for months and months and even years to get a good finished product? These same exact devs seem to have no problem making great games that are not delayed or with crippling technical problems or mandatory installs on other competing consoles, often times for the exact same multi-plat game?

Just last week, a major dev admitted that when porting over an upcoming blockbuster PC game to the 360 and PS3, they were using a 3 man team for the 360 version, and a 14 man team for the PS3 version? Just last year, GTA4 was delayed until April 2008 (after the 360 version was complete in like October) due to difficulties with the PS3 version? Gaming legends like Gabe newell even trash the difficulty of programming on the PS3. I could name countless other examples, but due to brevity I will stop.

Of course, cows could throw out a few technically well done PS3 games like COD4, Heavenly Sword, and Uncharted, which require no mandatory installs, and play great. No one here knows how much trouble and work it took to make these games run so well, the manpower and expense involved. And further, what do these devs know that every other dev in the world can't figure out? Wouldn't Sony rush this prized "unlocking the cell" info out to every other PS3 developer? It boggles the mind.

My point is, it has now become a common known FACT that the PS3 is very difficult to program games on. This is becoming an undeniable truth, particularly compared to the PS3's competition. Please, please, please stop blaming "lazy devs" on the PS3's issues.

Thank you in advance.

Instead of developers "unlocking the cell", they are actually becoming dumber.

I choose installs, im laxy not impatient. And like you said, the time it takes to install a game can be used for pre-game preperation!ONLYDOD

What about going to your PS3 home screen, then to file management, then scrolling through your old PS3 game install files, to painstakingly choose which one to delete from your 20gb PS3, so that you can play a new game? That could take some time too.

Why would they care? Everyone knows that all PS3 owners also own super-powerfull computers. EA knows that, so thats why they put it on hold.bobderwood97_1

Exactly. We all know that every single cow owns the latest and greatest PC, so that they can all enjoy the PC/360 games on the superior PC. Not one single cow still uses their 5 year old pentium laptop to game/post on system wars.

I would much rather swap disks. My problem with the mandatory installs is not even the time it takes to install- it's the fact that the main advantage of consoles (the ability to pop in a game and start playing immediately) is taken away. Just two nights ago I popped in Star Wars Starfighter and Full Spectrum Warrior into my PS2 for a little playing. If I had to wait and take up valuable (and ever decreasing) harddrive space in order to play them, I probably wouldn't have bothered. Actually, the time it took to install would be annoying as well.

Mandatory installs are the worst thing to ever happen to console gaming, mark my words.

Looks like another PS3 game with a large install. Gotta feel bad for the 40gb and 20gb users.

http://www.computerandvideogames.com/article.php?id=190332

From article-Considering that Devil May Cry and Metal Gear Solid 4 need around 5 GB of space too, all of those 40 GB PS3's are going to run out of space real fast if you don't keep on top of your HDD management.

Eltroz

LOL.

I've been reading the boards for months now. People are most passionate about the PS3 - fanatically passionate -- so they're winning the hearts right now and probably will the entire time.

Seriously, I don't get it. Why are Cows so freaking loyal to SOny? I used to be a Cow myself, but I stopped being so when I saw them trying to pull BS after BS, over and over. I saw straight through their BS. I would dislike Microsoft if they did the same thing. People are really, really loyal to Sony, basically because of the PS1 and PS2, not because of the performance or success of the PS3. Delusion is a word that comes to mind, quite frankly.
