This was recorded yesterday at the Xbox One Seattle Meet Up event hosted by Major Nelson.  

You'll see the Xbox One plugged in, turned on, then booted up to the devkit dashboard.  Then the Forza 5 hands-on demo is loaded up and we get invited inside to try it out ourselves by Major Nelson.  

The reason there's a Kinect 1.0 is because they had to remove the Xbox 360 and swap in the Xbox One in it's place on that demo station.  This proves that the Xbox One does not need Kinect 2.0 to run (no Kinect was plugged in).

The noise in the background of the video is my 6 month old daughter being bounced by my Wife.  They had been waiting in line with me for about 5 hours.  We were about 11th in line.

I think people got the Memo that Kinect is no longer required to be plugged in. We are just waiting for the memo that Kinect isnt bundled with the console :P

I dont know but I would have to suspect some hardware manufacturing problems. I have no evidence for this, but with MS recently scaling back its launch regions and holding back their launch date....it seems rather likely

Hope Crytek gives the go ahead. They can get paid like a licensing fee or something just dont be douche bags and block the release of a game they have no interest in making.
