Considering how loyal most Nintendo fans I know are I'm not surprised MS and Sony haven't been able to capture their market. However with the Playstation Sony did no doubt capture many gamers who owned a SNES. Whether they were Nintendo fans or fans of 3rd parties like Capcom, Sqaure, Konami ect. is unknown.
I prefer Bioware's RPGs to Square's but to each his own. Fable 2, Lost Odyssey, Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon, Infinate Undiscovery and Cry On should also be good. The main one I'm looking forward to is Mass Effect though.
As a rule Nintendo games sell well on Nintendo system and others not so well... 3rd parties probably still see the 360/PS3 as the best platforms for their games.
Why do you really doubt Halo Wars will be AAA? Esemble has two AAA games to their name and a few AA games. That's almost as good as Bungie's record and better than a lot of developers who have AAA hyped games.

Fair enough, that's a good reason. I thought at first it was lack of respect for Ensembles talents but considering C&C 3 scored 8.7 on 360 here despite all it's non-controller related flaws I think it has a good chance. After Bungie Ensemble is the very best Microsoft has and much like Bungie before Halo I have found console gamers don't consider them to be talented developers. I remember years back telling people on these forums Halo would be great because it was being made by Bungie and many people didn't agree. The main reason people had for disregarding Halo was Bungie's lack of experience on consoles and their own lack of experience with Bungie's games.Â
Bungie are talented devs: both Halo and Halo 2 got AAA. It's not "silly" to hype the third AAA too. I really doubt Halo Wars will be AAA though.
But I can agree with the topic title. If Halo 3 gets AAA then I would say it's a proven AAA franchise.Â

There is no such thing as a proven AAA franchise. Just look at Mario Sunshine and Twilight Princess. It has high potential for being AAA and Bungies history goes back further then Halo. For the most part it's an impressive history.

Forza 2 doesn't have casual appeal? GT3 was the best selling game last generation, some 14 million sales. Forza just doesn't have the brand name to go with the quality and MS needs to step up it's marketing campaign to change that.
