It's a good idea. They have no chance of winning that market so pooring so much money into it is not a good idea when that money could be better spent elsewhere.
Your probably right. I also expect the same thing to happen with MGS4, FF13, and DMC4 and every other Japanese game on the Xbox 360. It's just that the fan base isn't into those kinds of games. They would prefer a JRPG to Oblivion which is more PC like. It most likely will not sell all that well. Trust me, same thing will happen to MGS4. Most American gamers skip right past the cutscenes of a video game and go straight to the gameplay. It not necessarily a bad thing, just an expected one.Twisted_Hawk
If the same fanbase from the original Xbox carried over that would be true but fanbases do change over generation. The SNES to N64 or Master System to Genesis or Genesis to Saturn for examples. I only had a PS2 last gen and only plan to buy a 360 this gen. The reason i choose consoles is the games and not the brand name and before the PS1 I liked Sega systems. However there are a number of system wars cows who said they didn't like the game and it will be interesting to see if they change their minds now.
PC has different standards but that won't stop fanboys saying Oblivion 360 and PS3 > PC. Even though anyone who has played the different versions will know that's not true.
It's big enough to get all the extra development support it wouldn't otherwise be getting and that's going to be important. GTA4, Virtua Fighter 5, Ace Combat 6 and DMC 4 probably wouldn't be on 360 or in the case of GTA4 would be time exclusive if it were not for the early launch. It also wouldn't have got Lost Planet and Dead Rising as exclusives if it launched after the competition.
