I recently got back to playing KOTOR and Jedi Knight games, and I'd really like to see KOTOR 3 someday.

There are only 2 options here:

• Square is capable of making a current gen with high visual quality game quite fast.
• They're using large bits and pieces of data that were removed from XIII to make XIII-2.

And since Square claims that no content was removed from XIII... the only "logical" option would be the first.

Scenarios won't be a full re-hash (hopefully), so there will be some work on the world setting for XIII-2.

Battle system... uh... I wish they'd change that... really, XIII is a bigger mess than XII was. But than again the system is there from any previous game also...

Everything must be modded in some level. Some few stuff will come from scratch on XIII-2 (Like the main character), others will need a full overhaul (They said there will be "cities" on XIII-2... that alone is something that wasn't considered possible during XIII developement.)

I'm saying that since the "14 years" statement Square apparently came to grasp better the current generation tech and may be capable of doing a remake in less than the aforementioned time. (The question is, would that be profitable for them? Probably not, and so they won't do it.)

Edit: They won't do anything PS1 and before on a remake. I do believe that X, X-2, XII is the target for HD Collection, but of those I can only think fondly of X. If they throw in Crisis Core in the bundle though, I'd get the HD collection (Don't own a PSP, so CC would be the selling point for me).

I'd say they're prioritizing what they see as profitable (a sound business plan, mind you). I just don't believe the 14 years developement thing.

You have to remember that this would be a remake though. They don't have to come up with a story, characters, gameplay mechanics, and so on

I'm with you OP, consolization has too many casualties under its belt. Unfortunately shooter on console == instant best seller; so it probably won't flop *to* bad.ehussein1379

Not all FPS is a best seller. The developer can always make a mess of the game.

If it was a remake of VI, VII, VIII and IX, I`d buy. Day one...

X was an ok game. The graphical jump, not to mention finally having voice-acting in a FF game is what made me like it back then.

X-2 was an unworthy game to the series, totally passable.

XII... never really played it, I own it, but never really cared for it...

So, if the HD collection is X, X-2 and XII... it`s a waste of time IMO.

• Engaging history (First and foremost);

• Good history-telling (A good history that isn't well delivered is almost as bad as a shallow history);

• Well fleshed-out characters (Because if I'm going to play a lengthy game, I hope to care for the characters I'll be seeing a lot);

• A combat system that requires medium to high level of strategy (Because if I wanted a hack and slash, I'd play an action/adventure game);
  • Thats mainly the reason why I did not like the console version of DA2. I own the PC version, and up till where I played it seems ok.

• Decent graphics (Nothing extraordinary needed, but good visuals are always welcome);

• Freedom to make some choices (Even if the choice is simply the order in which I acomplish missions).

If I think in anything else, I'll update the post. :)

regretably mexico has extradition laws so all it would take is a simple confrence call with the US embassy there to have a team of US marshals combing the contryside looking for him. assuming he is in fact in mexico as several s. american nations DONT have such laws and us support such as brazil & argentina

All South American countries have some kind of extradition treaty with USA.

Brazilian laws and messed up extradition rules and bureaucracy are the problem... not the lack of them. Don't know about Argentina's condition though.

According to the map, every country in the Americas has an extradition treaty to the US. Looks like Russia is the best place for him to go if he's declared guilty.

Imagine this:

A country where you can buy pirated games (and movies... and audio CDs) on the streets. But not any shady, god-forsaken street, but the main streets of the city. Xbox, PS, PS2... I swear I saw some old genesis, NES and SNES cartridges in a stand some two or three weeks ago.

But hey... there are shops too... and internet sites that makes home deliveries! (No, I won't give the address of any site, I don't endorse piracy).

The Federal Police does work in order to eliminate this kind of crime, but lets be honest here, Hotz would be just one among thousands, and unless there was some serious political nudge from USA, I don't see him receiving any priority on the piracy investigations.

I'm talking about Brazil (where I live), and trust me, there is at least one country where not only piracy runs rampant, but is almost a basis of the local economy (Paraguay).
