Relax!

Then realize, the best conversationalists are good listeners. The reason for that is they can take what they hear and build off of it to make a more meaningful discussion. If no one else is talking, a few easy points to start a conversation off at are simple that everyone feels at ease talking about. Things like: the weather, jobs, school, etc. All of these can lead into something further.

So basically you're saying Community deserved some noms and Big Bang Theory didn't deserve as many?

You're completely entitled to your opinion but I will tell you that I personally thought season 2 of Community was quite terrible. For me, there were only a couple of memorable episodes and this is coming from someone who LOVED season 1.

While I won't disagree that Big Bang Theory was anything worth of noms but I don't think Community was anything better.

It really depends on the type of learner you are AND the courses you are taking. Some people can get by just listening and taking in the information while others require that they summarize a lecture and put it into their own words.

I personally found my laptop very useful in alot of my classes since several of my profs choose not to post any sort of lecture slides or notes during class. THey simply speak and the class listens. I can't write fast enough by hand to keep up with a speaker but I can however type fast enough.

Overall laptops are like most tools, they can simply a task, make it easier but is a laptop absolutely necessary to get by? I don't think so. Also, all universities will have computer labs available for students where you can get access without having to have to go back to your dorm.

I just don't like how they hardly ever innovate with the series. Its almost entirely a rerelease every year so they're in essence milking a successful franchise. I mean I get the whole, "if it ain't broke don't fix it" but this kind of developing just leads to staleness in the industry. Other companies try to emulate the success of CoD and we end up with a whole bunch of generic shooters with very little distinguishing features.

[QUOTE="topsemag55"]Fahrenheit is older than the Celsius scale though. When you grow up with water freezing at 32 or boiling at 212, you become accustomed to it.foxhound_fox
The US is the only country that is behind the times. Just because one is "used to it" doesn't mean the other isn't much, much better. Metric measurements also make a lot more sense. They are far easier to remember since they are all base-10.

I can't remember but I read an article about how it was financially unfeasible for the US to switch to the metric system. The cost of the conversion was so high in comparison to the gains that it wasn't worthwhile to change or something like that. I mean someday they might switch, but right now, especially with the way the US economy is right now I doubt it'll happen in even the next 100 years.

I live in Canada so fahrenheit is totally and completely unused. I didn't use Fahrenheit until university and even there it takes a backseat behind Celsius and Kelvin.

Well why do people like simple games such as farmville?

WoW and a lot of other MMOs seem shallow and simple initially from the outside and it can be that way for a lot of players. You go around, push a couple keys and kill some monsters, repeat until you level up. In reality though, most MMOs have a huge amount of variety and depth, but they're easy to get into. Also(outside of PvP) they test a person's strategy and decision making more than reaction time as opposed to games like first person shooters.

I think its this easy to play(don't get me wrong, MMOs are complex on many different levels) atmosphere that gets alot of different types of gamers into the game. MMOs also have a social aspect that you can't find in other types of games. During quests or raids its easy to talk and socialize with your friends as opposed to shooters, racing games, strategy games, etc. where you're almost entirely focused on the moment at hand and then the round or match ends.

A friend of mine is dating this girl but he just recently found out she had plastic surgery on her eyelids and on her nose. Now he says all he can think about is how shes not "natural" and its, to quote Jerry Seinfeld, "like finding out Mickey Mantle corked his bat".

I'm just wondering how other people would think in the same situation. I've never personally encountered such a situation and I'd like to think it wouldn't bother me but I think it would.

Also I'm only talking about elective procedures here, obviously if someone requires such work because of an accident or something then its necessary.

MLB needs to react like the NHL did when a fan died at a columbus game after getting hit by a puck. The NHL immediately mandated netting be placed on all areans to protect fans from deflected pucks after that incident.

Several of these falls have already happened previously where fans are reaching for baseballs, MLB knows people will always try to catch balls so they should force teams to either raise the railings or place some sort of safety netting.
