Hack This Site / Zine

So I found this site called Hack This Site (click for link) awhile ago and it's very cool. It show you, through realistic (and legal) situations, how to develope and test your hacking skills; from cracking a simple password to javascript and application challanges. It stars out pretty easy and gets progressivly more difficult every time, I really like this site, very cool.

From there I learned about a free online magazine called Hack This Zine (click for link). You can download the issues for free, there are currently 5 issues(it looks like they are published twice a year). I downloaded them and can't wait for issue 6; they cover hacking, anarchistic (almost always involving technology in some way), and computer programming topics. You should all check out at least 1 issue (I recomend issue 5), there were 3 really good comic strips in issue 5, click here to see one

There were 2 more that I really wanted to show you but for some reason couldn't paste in to this blog, sorry.

Night of the Living Dead upload update

Ok so get ready for Night of the Living Dead... tomorrow. For the past 2 1/2 days I've been searching for the right format converter and today I found it! The only bad part about it was that it took about 4 1/2 to 5 hours to fully convert the file, so because I just don't feel like dealing with it anymore tonight I am going to upload it tomorrow. So get yourself ready for one of the best zombie movies ever made!

Oh and also look at this:

A late Halloween treat for all of you.

Trick or treat and here is your treat: I plan on uploading the entire movie Night of the Living Dead by George Romero, Romero didn't copyrightit so it is avaliable for download by anybody, that;s too bad for Romero since his movies are so good but that;s great for us! I downloaded it in mp4 format and am converting it to windows media video as I type so if all goes as expected I will post the video by the end of the day. It is one of my all time favorite videos and I would really like to share it with all of you, and if everything goes alright with this then you can look forward to the other classic public domain movies like...... I don't know there must be others.

Wish me luck

This Vicious Cabaret

I just changed my blog picture to another one from V for Vendetta, so in honor of that I am going to post the lyrics to the song "This Vicious Cabaret" from V for Vendetta and a link to where you can hear it sung by David J. The song summarizes what has happened so far and explains V's ideas about the facist state.

This Vicious Cabaret - lyrics by Alan Moore

They say that there's a broken light for every heart on Broadway.
They say that life's a game, then they take the board away.
They give you masks and costumes and an outline of the story
Then leave you all to improvise their vicious cabaret...

In no-longer-pretty cities there are fingers in kitties.
There are warrants, forms, and chitties and a jackboot on the stair.
Sex and death and human grime, in monochrome for one thin dime,
But at least the trains all run on time but they don't go anywhere.
Facing their Responsibilities either on their backs or on their knees
There are ladies who just simply freeze and dare not turn away
And the widows who refuse to cry will be dressed in garter and bow-tie
And be taught to kick their legs up high in this vicious cabaret.

At last! The 1998 Show!
The ballet on the burning stage.
The documentary see
Upon the fractured screen
The dreadful poem scrwled upon the crumpled page...

There's a policeman with an honest soul that has seen whose head is on the pole
And he grunts and fills his briar bowl with a feeling of unease.
But he briskly frisks the torn remains for a fingerprint or crimson stains
And endevours to ignore the chins that he walks in to his knees.
while his master in the dark nearby inspects the hands, with a brutal eye,
That have never brushed a lover's thigh but have squeezed a nation's threat.
But he hungers in his secret dreams for the harsh embrace of cruel machines
But his lover is not what she seems and she will not leave a note.

At last! The 1998 Show!
The Situation Tragedy
Grand Opera slick with soap
Cliffhangers with no hope
The water-colour in the flooded gallery...

There's a girl who'll push but not shove and is desperate for her father's love
She believes the hand beneath the glove maybe one she needs to hold.
Though she doubts her hosts moralities she decides she is more at ease
In the Land Of Doing What You Please than outside in the cold.
But the backdrop's peel and the sets give way and the cast gets eaten by the play
There's a murderer at the Matinee, there are dead men in the aisles
And the patrons and actors too are uncertain if the show is through
And with side-long looks await their cue but the frozen mask just smiles.

At last! The 1998 Show!
The torch-song no one ever sings
The curfew chorus line
The comedy divine
The bulging eyes of puppets strangled by their strings

There's thrills and chills and girls galore, sing-songs and surprises
There's something hear for everyone, reserve your seat today
There's mischief and malarkies but no queers or yids or darkies
Within this bastard's carnival, this vicious cabaret.

What do you think?

New banner, new quote

So I made a new banner, I haven't decided if I like it better than my old one but I thought that it was time for a change. It's still V for Vendetta, it has the words "The Shadow Gallery" which is what V calls his home in the comic and there is a picture of V. I may change my header image but I haven't decided.

I also added a new quote (again still from V for Vendetta)

"...but it was my integrity that was important. Is that so selfish? It sells for so little, but it's all we have left in this place. It is the very last inch of us, but within that inch we are free..."

-Valerie (V for Vendetta)

I have always thought that this was a really powerful statement.

What do you think of my new banner/ quote? Questions? Comments?

Resident Evil Extinction and a HDTV, all in one day!

So tomorrow (Monday) I am going to see Resident Evil Extinction, I've been waiting for this movie since the end of Apocolypse (sp?) and I can't wait! It's going to be amazing and the great news is that according to an interview on wikipedia, if this movie does good enough there could be a 4th movie in the series, isn't that great. Has anybody else here seen any of the resident evil movies? did you like them?

And more good news, I might be getting an HDTV tomorrow! My mom's boy friend accidently broke theTV I have now and insted of trying to get it fixed, she decided that it would be easier just to get a new one. Normally she wouldn't get me an HDTV but I showed her one from circuitcity.com which was 269.99. Since it wasn't as much as she thought it would be she said that we would look at it, so I think that as long as there are no hidden charges or anything she will get it. I've wanted an HDTV for so long now, I am so excited!

The only down side is that I need to stay after school to make up a test that I missed last week, I hope I do good.

Dungeon Runners

Right now I'm downloading the game dungeon runners, it's a free MMORPG. I heard about it when they reviewed it on X- Play and since it was free I decided togive it a try. Has anybody else played it? Did you like it?

The Simpsons Movie was on Youtube!

The other day I was on youtube and guess what I found.... the entire Simpsons Movie was on youtube. I am so glad I found it because I have been wanting to see it again, the only bad thing about it was that it had japanese subtitles but that wasn't a very big deal. The bad news is that it got taken off yesterday, not a big suprise.

Summer Homework

I'm finishing my summer homework assignment for AP European history, I have afeeling that I am either going to do very well or very bad on it. And I still have to write 2 essays about the book Anthem and double check my Algebra 2 assignment and I only have a week left to do it, I'm really afraid I'm not going to get it finished.
