Well, nothing to say

Except that maybe over a few months things will go the same way... For a while I kinda forgot of this site. Ironic since it used to be once my definitive homepage.

Like my new icon?...

...I find it suspicious that it hasn't changed on GS Wide pages (maybe it's because of FF and it's caching habits). Anyway, the PM counter is messed up as well, still 3 message although I've read 'em all, but I guess it's just a silly GS glitch. Anyway, like my new avatar? Props to carstairs who made it (the previous one, which you might see over here, was made by him as well). His works are just fine.

Night

The night is on, the lights still aren't on, but my nostalgia is certainly turned on.

Well, there it goes.

The beta has gone online and now I really feel like I've got lots of memories behind me. The feeling tears me apart, as I've never been so far from GameSpot. In the same time though, kinda like a monk I realise how profane this world is... It's sad that it comes down like that. I am still being tracked because I'm an officer of the Emblems Union? The only good reason why I'm still there is because I was an important contributor et cetera... yeah, whatever. The thing is that, once fastesttruck would demote me, if I want to become an officer again (which is unfortunately quite unlikely) I would have to find my way through trillions of pages with the union's members to find myself!... So, for now, things will stay the same. You know, maybe in a year or two I might be in the mood to drop some reviews once in a while (my plans include journalism)... But, for now, I'm not in the proper state of mind. This heat is killing me, it really amplifies my laziness.

What else I've been doing...

...Reading lots of books. I've found out that I got A on my FCE Cambridge exam, so thanks to my parents' money I was able to buy a book I was lusting after for quite a while: What else? I've been doing some working on a site that will contain lots of info on trip-hop... but I shouldn't be too proud before it's finished.

What is going on in my life

Well, not much... Remember when I said that I've finished Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus? Well, I've finished Abe's Oddysey (the first one) too and (again) Abe's Exoddus in the meantime and I would want to finish Stranger's Wrath as I didn't managed to finish that one (although I was quite close... I think I was in the last chapter or something like that). I made a lot of nice screenshots, but I got no patience right now to post them. I've been doing a lot of poetry in English, if you want to check it out: http://www.poemhunter.com/selenaru-negrea

Arcade time

I would have more things to say, but I'm not in the mood and only one of them is remotely related to GS. I've been recently to the most recently (!) opened mall in my city. While it still doesn't deserve the hype, I could find a McDonald's though and even some arcade machines which seem to be the most advanced arcade machines in the city. Ironically, most of them seem to have been released in the late '90s and early '00s, as on a certain arcade I've seen a 3DFx logo (!) which ultimately brings back memories. Then there's a Crisis Zone arcade, some more Namco arcades as well as two Harley-Davidson & L.A. Riders arcades with motorcycle replicas as controllers! Finally, a table which seemed to be a pinball pool but which was a hockey pool - it was a real thing, just that the game itself worked only with the help of the "computer" inside the table. And, near the exit, there was a Counter-Strike clone from Konami (Judgement Time or something like that), few action game arcades that weren't working properly, a Virtua Tennis arcade as well as a cheap Mars-themed pinball.

Glitchy 'n speedy

After a while of agony in Need for Speed : Pro Street, I've learnt that this is a crappy game and I've decided to uninstall it. Although I'm not very fond of Most Wanted, I will reinstall it this afternoon as a doze of hot chases would certainly be more... suitable for this summer atmosphere. Besides that, I need a break from all this Oddworld (re)craze. Speaking of which. I have been lately replaying Abe's Oddysee (the first one). Some puzzles are mildly easy, others are so hard that I regret the lack of quicksave (which happens quite often). The hardest ones are the secret area puzzles, of course. I've just completed one, but with an unusual "technique" that I have never used. Among other things (read the spoiler alert if you've already played this or don't care to play it),
I had in this secret area to possess a Slig below Abe and run towards the middle of the next screen, the middle from which I had to shoot (with only one bullet per Slog... which is very hard to do in such a hurry) rapidly over a dozen of Slogs (creatures like dogs) coming from left and right (each of them is "conjured" when you kill the previous one).
Very tricky each time I try to replay this area. Discouraged a bit, I tried to walk into that screen saying "Here boy!" (which means to Slogs "Follow me!") just for the sake of experimenting. The Slog didn't stopped and did ate the Slig, so I thought it was useless. I've decided to jump and let myself be killed by the Slog in order to start over, but before that, the Slog already entered the room in which I was (which is unusual) and when I jumped he didn't killed me! Soon I realized that he was following me as if I was the Slig (Abe can't usually make Slogs follow him). I've done the rest of the job pretty relaxed and surprised as the Slog didn't minded all the chantings I was doing. Of course, I couldn't make him "wait" so back on the previous screen I chanted and went back to the main area very relieved.
