I might become a subscriber soon...

I'm not putting my word on it though... EDIT: I just remembered to say: I found out that I can actually play ProStreet with my keyboard, just that not while dad's home. While dad was at work, I tried again to play and I managed to drive the car properly (so good that I relatively fast won the first race day)... Until dad returned from work. When his computer was plugged in, my keyboard was showing the disrespect I've learned two days ago... So, I guess it has to do with how the two wireless keyboards' signals interfere. Speaking of interfering, my speakers are making a weird noise from time to time (at every 1-2 minutes) as if there's a mobile phone around that interferes, only that it sounds slightly different and there's no mobile phone around. At first I assumed it was a CRC error or something like that in the music I listen to, but I played different songs from different artists and albums and I could still hear that annoying sound that always manages to make my heart beat faster. Might have to do with the game and at what volume I left the background sounds' volume. I guess 50% is too harsh for me. (Mind you, I was having my speakers at a higher volume, as to hear the music I was listening to, so that's why most of the settings are at a very low volume).

Great, just great

I can't play properly NFS: ProStreet because my wireless keyboard is too lazy to emit all the signals, so that very often my car slows down and lacks direction, and therefor getting easily into a wall or something. I can't tell you how many thousands of times I've restarted ONE event, before I eventually gave up, with my dad's promise of getting a decent USB keyboard only for games.

Exam time

Today and tommorow I am busy with the Cambridge exams for FCE (First Certificate in English). Today I only have the Speaking part, which lasts about 20 minutes, I think, but tomorrow is the real hassle - it will be like a mental marathon, baby!

I've seen that Corvette again...

I was on the very same street, hardly managing to carry my [I don't know how to translate this word, it's something of a rucksack, anyway something you carry at school] when I saw a red, funky car on the street. As the driver was trying to park it (in the exact same spot), I noticed that it was the same Corvette Z06 I've seen few days ago. Only this time, I could see the driver walking away from the car with another person and going in the block nearby, not in the pub, as i thought he was going to do. If you would see them on the street, you wouldn't think they could ever afford such a car, I mean, they didn't have any fancy clothes or distinctive... I don't know, gesture, alure? Anyway... ... I think I would only like to drive it in virtual reality. Nearly impossible to use the full potential of the car without making something illegal in reality. Still, there's the option of a closed circuit, but nothing nice to see in there...

NFS Carbon: Tales from San Juan

Here it is: http://www.gamespot.com/users/IonescoF/view_album?id=tmMzDkENLX-KRMFl OK, here are some notes: 1) How did I get that blue Audi? Well, there's a trainer that enables you to buy in any car lot any car that is unlocked in the game, and that includes even the modified cars you already have in your garage. In order to unlock the Audi or Pagani, for instance, I needed another trainer that unlocked every car, but didn't do the buying thingy that enabled me to drive Audi R8 in career mode. After that, you can guess how did I manage to make it iridescent blue... And please don't complain about cheating, I already finished Carbon 4 times and I had to find a way to extend the enjoyment. 2) What's San Juan? Everywhere it is said that Palmont has 4 districts: Kempton, Fortuna, Downtown and Silverton. In fact, Palmont has 5 districts, but the 5th - San Juan - was removed before the game was released. It was cut "due to complexity and size". Actually, they could have placed it next to Kempton or next to Silverton, with the condition of deviating a bit that river from the east. And if it was o complex, still, it could have been put on the PC... Created as a sort of Hispanic ghetto, it was supposed to be the area in which you start your racing adventures in Palmont. In fact, San Juan appears in the tutorial, there's a Race Wars challenge on Garcia Street and you can even play in Quick Races in parts of San Juan, but you can't free roam. Unless.. 3) How did I get into San Juan? Theoretically, you can't drive in San Juan in free roam, because it isn't linked with the turfs. Before releasing the game, they've managed to cover up any traces of a road to Palmont, even though I have suspicious where it could have been. There's a glitch that allows you to roam outside the roads, enabling you to get into San Juan as well as the track where some drifts took place and the canyon tracks. (you can search for its tutorial on YouTube) San Juan, according to the quick race map, is placed somewhere southeast of Silverton and northeast of Downtown, and you can see from San Juan the laser projectors from Silverton, but the district is placed west of Fortuna. See the last image the location of Historic San Juan, the only end of San Juan that can be seen on the map. If anyone wants a closer look at my Audi or any other car I have (for instance, my pink Zonda...), I'm willing to take more shots. Just say it in the comments.

Old Plans

Once I promised on a NFS union board that I'll be bringing some pictures of my ride... I guess today or tomorrow I'll be able to put some pictures of my blue Audi (!), driving it through San Juan, the 5th neighbourhood that should have been available in Free Roam, but it isn't... There are some catches though. All of these will be explained when I'll put up the photos.

I saw a Corvette Z06...

...on the street. I've seen lots of Chevrolet cars in the last few months, but I haven't seen a Z06. Until now. I was quite surprised when I saw that red Chevrolet car parked in such a shady place in this shady neighbourhood. Then again, there's a pretentious pub nearby, so I guess that's the reason why he/she parked there. Looking at the back side of the car, it was clear that it was a Z06, which looked exactly like the car I am driving in Carbon. Except the fact that my car from Carbon doesn't have that plain red paint job. This Z06 wasn't very shine, as anyway it wasn't in a show room or a nighttime street to be surrounded by lights. Interesting, but, nonetheless, less satisfying than driving it, even in the virtual reality of NFS: Carbon. As a matter of fact, I've seen over the years few Nissans and a couple (I think) of more exotic cars seen passing by. That's because there are few rich people who live in the area. Some pick a certain area downtown, near the shipyard, others have their houses spread across various neighbourhoods, while few manage to get in the suburbs outside te town. Our neighbourhood is quite of a ghetto, being mostly lived by elder people and other such families with modest incomes. As the city continues to expand, the south of this area will turn in 10-15 years into a kind of downtown business center. By then, I should leave Constanta.

Somewhere not here...

It would be nice to evade, to go somewhere other than this rathole that, for better or worse, is my "home". Maybe that would be a reason to start all over again Myst... It would be nice, but in the next 2 weeks, I have to study for a Cambridge exam... :(
