IpodHero176 Blog

Update and some vids

How are you guys doing? Like my new banner and avatar? I came down with lost Odyssey-ritus:P I can't wait to get this game. It's looking very good. I've made a new review, which is a review for Final Fantasy VI Advance, which is pretty good.

I was suppose to go to this kids college(I didn't want to), and everything was filled(yay:D ), so I get to stay here and have fun on GS:)

My mom wants me to do something active with my summertime, so I asked her if I can get a guitar and Guitar lessons. Surprisingly, she agreed, but I don't know when I'll start them.

Remember that videogame I was working on a long time ago? Well,I'm back working on it. I'm trying to figure out how the gameplay will work out(I can tell you, it's going to be similar to the reaction system from GOW, but with a new thing that's originally from me).

In my next blog, I will post my own Guitar Hero 3 setlist, and the guitarist that I think should be bosses. For now, here are some music videos:D

Tightrope (Tetsu rules, right Bulletsword?:D )

Under c.l.a.s.s. Hero (A pretty good song, that will grow on you)

Potential Breakup Song (This has actually grown on me. It's not that bad)

Now for the FF songs by the Black Mages(Nobuo Uematsu's band)

Maybe I'm a Lion(one word: Great)

The Skies Above (Purely amazing)

Clash on the Big Bridge (a great rock song)

What do you think?

E3 Press Conferences opinions

Well, all the press conferences are over. It was my first time watching it. I thought it was alright:) Here are my opinions on them.

Microsoft- I missed a lot of it the first time(which is why I don't have the emblem:( ), but I watched it again. It was alright. I thought they should of went into detail on most of their games, like they did for Assasin's Creed(which looks good btw). They mostly just named the game, showed the trailer, and then moved onto the next game. I liked thedemo of Assasin's Creed they showed. The interaction of the NPC was very welldone. Why is Madden and Naruto in the Conference? I thought MS will only talk about 1st person games. They then finished the conference up with, of course, Halo:roll: It was alright though.

Nintendo- I saw all of this one, and it was pretty good. Reggie told us the date for Brawl(December 3rd baby!!:D ) and showed us wat you'll be able to do in Metroid prime 3: Corruption, and gave us a tip on using the hyper mode properly. They also introduced new things similar to Wii sports(or in that category) like Wii Fitness(which looked interesting) and more info on the Miis. It was going good until they started talking about The High School Musical game(WTH is that doing at the E3?!). I was disappointed a little after that(I think I died inside) and I'm thinking that Nintendo is slowly killing gaming like Semimaster said. Overall, it was pretty good, but it could of been a lot better(it was a little better than MS's conference though).

Sony- Now it goes a little downhill, but not by much. Sony started to discuss the PSP and how they're giving it a new color and the new features that are going to be on it. They then moved onto HOME, which was a good move for Sony to make(to create it). It was funny to see the guy saying that someone that he usually plays against sucks, but when he starts to play, he(the spokesman)stinks:lol: I like that you can go from the HOME to a PS3 game online(has to have multiplayer, so it won't work on FFXIII). The exclusive game is where Sony shined. MGS's trailer rocked the house so much, it caused an earthquake:D If you missed Sony's Conference and didn't see that trailer before(I think it was a new one), go see it immediately:D I've never played a MGS game(surprised? I know), but the fight sequenced were outstanding(especially Raiden vs that guy with dark hair). Haze's trailer was alright, but Haze will NOT be the Halo killer. The major part where I got very upset and disappointed was when
They didn't even mention FFXIII once:evil: Not once!
Why Sony?! If I was that company, I would be offended.

Anyways, as my first E3, I thought it was ok, but could of used a lot of changes in it.

That was my opinion. What did you guys think about the Conferences?

Things I'm going to check out at E3 part 2

This is part 2 of the last blog. You already know #10-6, now here's #5-1.

5. Final Fantasy XIII

The first game in the XIII universe which will span 10 years. This game has a big expectation to fullfill. If this game isn't good, then most people won't get the other games in the XIII series. This game will do fine though. I don't know the main character's real name(SE hasn't told us yet), all I know is that her codename throughout the game will be "Lightning", which is what I'm calling her. SE says Lightning will wage a war between the rich, higher c.l.a.s.s.y. world called Cocoon, and the lower world, Pulse. SE also said that she is a female version of Cloud Strife, which will be interesting(I wonder if she's going to talk at all, since Cloud didn't talk that much in FF7). The game will be using the White Engine(a graphics engine made specifically for the PS3), the gameplay will have a system similar to the ATB(Active Time Battle), and the limit breaks(now called Overclock) will be similar to the Trance system of FFIX, and that it would be timed button presses(like Auron's Banishing Blade, IceDemon, you're going to rock in this game:D )They also said that Lightning can control gravity, so expect her limits to be like the matrix. I think this game will do alright and will be a good opening game for the XIII seiries.

Final Fantasy XIII trailer

4. Blue Dragon

What a surprise. I've been telling people in the unions I'm in to get this game, and it comes in 4th place? The reason is that I know a lot about this game, and I've been keeping up with this game (I know Mistwalker is going to make a sequel of it, etc). The story follows Shu, an ordinary kid who finds a blue dragon(or something similar to that). The lead designer is none other than Hironobu Sakaguchi(creator of the FF series, Chrono Trigger, Parasite Eve, and more), art by Akira Toriyama(Chrono Trigger, Dragonball series), and music by the great Nobuo Uematsu(Chrono Trigger, nearly all the FF series, Super Smash Brothers Brawl and a few more), so you know this game will be really good. This will catch people at E3's attention, not only because of the people working on the game, but that it will be the first JRPG(Japanese RPG like FF)for the 360(well it will be the first for the US, it was already released in Japan). This game will be the next game I get for the 360.

Blue Dragon Trailer

3. Rock Band

The Fender Stratocaster replica guitar controller, which features 10 frets and an effects switch.

I was surprised that this game is on the list(I wasn't going to put it on there, but when I looked into the game more, I started to like it). This game looks really good. The concept is like the title, make a band and rock to fame. You have the choice to buy the guitar, drums, or microphone(not all together, you get the game and you choose whichinstrument you want to get with it). The game will be $60, but the instruments will all have different prices(I don't know the guitar's price or the mic's price, but the drums will be $80). The game will have songs that most people wanted for Guitar Hero, like such songs as Don't Fear the Reaper(Yay:D ), Welcome to the Jungle(sweet:) ), Paranoid(nice8) ), In Bloom(Boo, I hate Nirvana:evil: ), and many more. I hear that Harmonix has a part on thei site where we(the gamers) can vote 4 songs to be in Rock Band, which Red Octane(who has the Guitar Hero franchise) should of done. This game will have a little spotlight in E3, and since Harmonix is a part of MTV, they have a lot of songs to choose from, which means we will have a nice songlist. Can't wait to hear more on it:D

They don't have a trailer for Rock Band(Harmonix hasn't released one), here's a video of the developers of Rock band playing the game.

Rock Band

2. Lost Odyssey

Now this is a game created by the people who make Blue Dragon. This game is about a guy named Kaim, and that he did something really bad, he was then punished by living for 1000 years(which I don't see that as a punishment, I would like to live for 1000 years, wouldn't you?). The game starts out in a war with Kaim coming in helping one of the armies(Mistwalker hasn't told us the names of the warring troops, but if you do know it,PM me). Kaim can kick butt and drink Gatorade at the same time(he doesn't drink anything in the game while fighting, but he does kick butt as you can see in the trailer). This game will be overlooked at E3, but it will rock when it comes out.

Lost Odyssey trailer

If I were at E3, I would write a lot about this game, but I would writemore about #1
1. Guitar Hero 3

Ah yes, GH3. This game will have a lot of people going to write articles about this game. With new developers(Neversoft & Actvision), this game will have a lot of new and different things than the previous installments(like there are boss battles now, there are new co-op game modes). They have only released the first 2 tiers of the game(which are alright, but I hope the rest of the tiers will be a lot better), but I want to know the whole song setlist. I also would like them to have some J-rock songs in this game(as bonus songs). Imagine playing Go!(the 4th opening of Naruto), Ichirin no Hana(the 3rd opening of Bleach), or God Knows(a very hard song to play), but that will never happen:( Anyways, this game will have as many people focusing on it as Halo 3 will. I think Red Octane should of stayed with Harmonix, but I can't wait to get this game.
Well that's my top 5 games I'm looking forward to checking out at E3. Tell me what you think of my list.

Things I'm going to check out at E3 part 1

Yeah, it's that time again. Every time this year comes the biggest gaming expo in the world, the E3(electronic Entertainment Expo). Last time, I wasn't a part of GS, so I didin't know that you could watch it live here. Now that I am, I put a reminder out for all of the systems. Here are some of the games I'm going to check out at the E3, thier trailers, what I think of them so far, and what I expect. This is the first part of it(10-6). I will post up part 2 next week. The trailers will be after my opinions of the game.

Here it goes.

10. Star Wars: the Force Unleashed

I've heard a little bit of this game, but most of it is still under wraps. The game looks very good, and being on the dark side at the start is new for a change. Some of the things I know are that you are the apprentice of Darth Vader. It takes between episode III and IV. You are also a secret from the Jedis and the siths too(which means Vader might have other plans for the Sith:D ), so you will have to be stealthy when on missions. I think the game will be very good, and the force powers will be its selling point. I also think that there will be a few confusing puzzles, but it won't take away from the game. I expect a medium bit from this game(which I will pick up when it comes out), mainly because of the force powers, but it will do well.

The Force Unleashed Trailer

9. Halo 3

I'm not a big Halo fan, but this game seems interesting. I know the story of Halo(not in detail, but I know a medium bit), and this game has to close it up, which then the pressure's on Bungie to make it end this chapter good. The demo was very popular when it came out, so much that GS had a "breaking news" event when the demo came out. My friend was shoving that he had the demo in my face, but he forgot that I'm not into Halo that much. The graphics look great and the new weapons are really cool(especially the spike bomb and the barrier shield, which has good and bad effects). I think this game will be very good. It's already going to be sold out on launch(Gamestop said that this is the highest selling game, and it's not even out yet). The story looks good, the multiplayer will rock, and the graphics are great. This is(sorry for the Naruto analogy) like Sasuke Uchiha in the Chunin Exams. Everybody came just to see Sasuke fight and that if he doesn't fight, the Kazekage will declare war on Konoha(which happened anyways). Everybody that's going to E3 mainly cameto write anarticle forthis game.

H3 Trailer

8. Fable 2

The first Fable was alright(I didn't really like it that much), but Molymeux says that he's fixed the mistakes of the first game and won't be repeated in Fable 2. I think moving the story 500 years after the first game is a good approach, since you can have more variety of c.l.a.s.s.e.s(and you get to go in deph into them too). Having a family is an interesting move, but I don't think it will get many good feedbacks. Having a co-op is very interesting move, and I wonder how will the leveling will work out. I expect a medium bit from this game, but I think it will deliver more than expected.

Fable2 Trailer

7. Bioshock

Now this game looks great. You are sent to a place called the Rapture, a society of geniuses, which then, something went wrong. You have to survive using the enviroment surround you. You have to also customize your weapon to help you at that moment. The water graphics look spectacular and the monsters inhabiting the Rapture are very detailed and have their own personality. You will have to make some major decisions that are sometimes morally wrong. This is another game that like Halo, people will flock to this game and will write a lot about it. I can't wait for this game:D

Bioshock trailer

6. Final Fantasy Versus XIII

Let's see, a post-apoclolypic time, a guy who can control swords with telekinesis, and a battle system similar to Kingdom Hearts? You know this game will rock(S_Jake, I know what you're going to tell me about this game and Kingdom Hearts, so don't hold this against me, ok?:P )! The boy is suppose to be protecting a crystal(I think) and is the new ruler of a forgotten and destroyed kingdom. He also has nothing to lose too? We just might have another Kratos(GOW) on our hands:D I expect a lot from this game, while not as popular as its counter-part, Final Fantasy XIII, this game looks very interesting and I really want to see how using the swords in a telekinesis way will work out.

FF Vs XIII trailer

The games I'm going to check out #1-5 will be up next week with thier trailers also. I really can't wait for the E3, and I wish I was there(but $2,000 for a ticket is way out of my range).

Tell me what you think of my list and opinions on these games.

Nightrise and question

My dad gave me $20 so I can buy a videogame(what videogame can be bought for $20?!), but instead I bought a book called Nightrise. I was waiting for this book for a long time(I read the first 2 books about a year or two ago).

It's the third book of the Gate Keeper series(in the UK, it is called the Power of Five series). The author is the same person who writes the Alex Rider series(Stormbreaker, Eagle Strike, Arc Angel, etc). It's a really good book, here are the synopsis of the first 2 books.

Raven's Gate- Raised in foster care, Matthew Freeman always knew he had strange powers. After he attempts to steal DVDs from a local warehouse, he is sent to Yorkshire as part of a rehabilitation program, named the LEAF Project, only to find himself in the midst of sinister happenings.

Evil Star- After his experiences in Raven's Gate, Matt thinks his days of battling evil are over. But soon he is pulled into another terrible adventure when he discovers a second gate exists. Matt and his friend Richard travel to Peru and, assisted by the Nexus, follow clues to the gate's whereabouts. But there is a traitor in the Nexus. Matt's friend Richard is kidnapped but Matt manages to escape with the help of a local Peruvian, Pedro, who is another "one of the five". The two can only communicate in their dreams, as Matt speaks English, and Pedro Spanish. The pair travel to the Nazca desert and Matt realizes the horrifying truth, that the second gate is about to open, again increasing the chance of The Old Ones returning. Once again, Matt must prevent it happening.

There are 5 Gatekeepers, but so far, you only know 4. They can communicate with each other(if they speak a different language, like Matt and Pedro) only through their dreams(which is like another world, where only the Gatekeepers can go and where they can sense the Old Ones).

It's a great series, and I think that you guys should check it out.

Now, here are some vids!

God Knows... (This would rock in Guitar Hero)

Cruel Angel Thesis (So would this)

Dragonball opening(This would too)

I havea big question. You guys know the rapper, NAS? Well, did he do a remix for the song on Bleach? You know, the song that starts playing when Ichigo starts to win(it called Number One). Here's a link to the song.

Nas-T mix

Youtube on your Ipod?!

Bulletsword, a friend of mine, told me of this thing where you can convert videos from Youtube and put them on your Ipod and Itunes. I was skeptical of it, but after I downloaded it, I love it:D I've downloaded 10 vids! It's so cool. Also, it's free(and legal), and all you do is put the address of the youtube vid onto the part the converter says "URL" and put where you're going to store it(I put it in My Downloads on my comp). Then press convert, and wait a little bit, and that's it:) Here's the link to the site if you want to get it.

Youtube converter

I wonder if we could upload them onto GS, but I don't think so, because of the copyrights thing. I don't really know.

In other news, I was watching Game Head, and Geoff Keighley was interviewing this guy who makes new hardware using consoles. The guy actually created a 360 labtop!!!! It's a labtop, but with the parts from the Xboc 360. The guy is a videogame modder, but the things he makes rock!! You turn the labtop on using the 360 controller, and you can go online. It's like another PC, but with 360 graphics, and I think you can play 360 games on it!! He also turned an Atari 2600 into a handheld right in front of your eyes:) Now that's amazing! Here is the link to watch all this happen. The Game Modder

If they release that 360 labtop, I'm buying it:D

Top 5 favorite developers

Here are my top 5 favorite videogame developers. These are thedevs I want to work for.

5. Intelligent Systems-

These guys are the mind behind suchseries as Fire Emblem, Advance Wars, and a few Metroid games. I'm a big fan of Fire Emblem and like the storyline of the game and the gameplay. The games they make challenge your mind and make you constantly plan out your moves(you have to think 3 steps ahead of the AI in Fire Emblem). I like games that challenge you mentally(Fire Emblem and Advance Wars)and put you on the edge of your seat(Metroid Fusion).

4. Square-Enix-

It was number one one time, but they've fallen from their old glory. I still like them, but they need to stop remaking and creating spinoffs. I think that if they had to remake a game, they should remake Chrono Trigger(thought it would be FF7?:P ). I do like the Kingdom Hearts series and, of course, the FF series, but they need to get Sakaguichi back(well it's too late now) or at least get Monolith soft back(they did Xenosaga and Xenogears). I am excited for Last Remnant(and that it's rated M, sothey're going all out)and the XIII series, but they need to create some more original games(LR is a start, but for the PS1, they had so many different games, which I think they should do again).

3.Bethseda-

The people who brought you Oblivion had to be in my top 5. Oblivion is very open-ended, meaning you can do practically anything. I heard that you can play Oblivion for a whole year, and I agree. I got the game right when it came out, and I'm still playing it. They must of worked their butts off on this game, and I can't wait for The Elder Scrolls 5. I hope they don't let me down.

2. GameFreak-

I have to give them their props, even though the Pokemon series is childish, it is a very good series of games. It takes a lot to created 486 monsters(that's the total so far). Making new places to join is a big thing too. They said that the main point of the Pokemon series is to bring people from all over together, which is happening now that Diamond and Pearl have WiFi. They should make a Pokemon game that you can trade with all the games(even Red, Blue, Yellow, Collesium, etc). It would be impossible, since they are on different hardwares, but it would be cool.

and number one. I have very high expectations from them, because of the director, but they will probably exceed them.
1. Mistwalker-

As the previous director for Squaresoft, who actually brought Squaresoft back from getting bankrupt by creating one of th biggest game franchises, Final Fantasy, he is legendary across the videogame genre. I would love to create a game with him, no matter what system it's on(it could be on PC, and I wouldn't care, not that I'm dissing the PC). He was behind other games such as Kingdom Hearts, Parasite Eve, and Vagrant Story. He alwayed kept a close eye on the FF series when he was there. He got promoted to Executive Vice-President after FFVI came out, which then, he wasn't directly involved with a lot of the FF games after that. When I learned about him, he just finished creating Mistwalker, which is now under Microsoft(it's funny how SE sides with Sony mainly, which they side with MS). Blue Dragon made a lot of people in Japan buy a 360, which is a big accomplishment to me. Also, he said that he didn't like the path SE is taking the FF series, and said that he plans on taking his own creation down. A lot of people think he's crazy, but I say that he can do it, but he has to go all out and make a game as good as Chrono Trigger to take SE out. I heard that he's trying to buy the rights to the Chrono series(a direct Chrono Trigger sequel in the works? I hope so). Blue Dragon did very well, and Lost Odyssey looks very promosing. I'm hoping that they can make a series to rival Final Fantasy(I don't want them to take FF down), and light a fire under SE's butt. I hope I can get a job with them, and get Sakaguchi to become my mentor, like he was with Tetsuya Nomura. Wish me luck on that one:)
Here are the ones to make the top 10

10. HAL Labratory

9. Epic Games

8. Harmonix

7. Bungie

6. Monolith Soft

5 games I really want

There are so many games I want to play, but here are my top 5(note, they are already released, so it won't be any new games like Last Remnant).

5. Xenogears

It's a really good game. It is very philosophical and has great cast of characters. It even got a prequel(Xenosaga). I wish they would remake this, but Monolith left Squaresoft, so I don't see it happening soon.

4. Valkyrie Profile

For some reason it caught my eye, when I heard that it has more than 7 different endings. I know it's remade for the PSP, but I don't have one and I'm not really planning on getting one. I wish that they remaded this one the PS2, it would be cool.

3. Drakengard

This is one of Squaresoft's rated M games. I didn't mis-type, it is rated M. One of the only things I know about it is, that a few people male deals with these dragons and give up something to them(like the main character gives up his voice), and the dragons are bound to them. You can make deals with more than one dragon, but you have to give up something. I would give up my voice too, it seems the easiest to give up.

2. Chrono Cross

One of the best PS games made. It's not a direct sequel to Chrono Trigger, but it has a few references to it. I really wanted to play this game, which is why I wish that I could control time. I would go back in time and get this game. It has a very interesting twist, which I won't tell you so I won't spoil your fun if you're playing it.

If I could go back in time to get that game I would go back further to get this game.
1. Chrono Trigger

The greatest game ever created(it was actually branded that). Chrono trigger was made by the same guy doing Blue Dragon(Hironbou Sakaguichi). I really want to get this game, and I really wish that SE remade this for the GBA. It would actually increase the sales of the GBA now. I know that this game has 15 different endings depending on which worlds you visit, and the outcome of the final battle(if the main character, Chrono, dies, then your ending will change to where he looks likes he's dead, but isn't). You travel through time, so you actually see the changes of the worlds during the years(example, you go to a mid-evil time wolrld, and when you come back after a long time, it would be a 20th century world. The change takes place slowly, but you see it). The music is by Uematsu and the artwork is by Akira Toriyama(the guy who created Dragonball, and DBZ). I can't believe that all this is in a NES game(the pic on the left  that has the PS logo is the remake)! I really need to get this game if it's the last thing I do. I might have to buy a NES, because the PS version has slow loading times. I see why it's the greatest game ever!
Here are some new videos I found on Youtube. They are pretty good. Tell me what you think of them.

byob

Note

Riot (I really like this one).

Also, I was going to have a new banner made by Ninjablade, but it was too big(darn GS's banner size). It was a good banner, and I would gladly like to give the credit to Ninjablade:D

Songs I want to play. Return of the Nano

My mom said that if I work for her again, I will get an Ipod nano:D Finally! I knew I wouldn't get one this school year, but in the middle of the next one. I guess I was partly right:) I start working next week(maybe earlier).

I also saw Pirates 3. It was mostly funny, but it did have some(more like a lot) of action-packed parts. I liked when
Barbossa was marrying Will and Elizabeth while they were fighting.
It was really funny. There were a few parts I thought were confusing, and weren't answered at the end of the movie, like when
in the beginning, that little boy had one of the 9 pieces of 8. Where did he get it, and why.
Anyways, I got my TAKS scores back yesterday. They usually score out of 2400(which is a95% I think. I know the lowest score you can make, but pass is 2100, which is a 70%). In the math TAKS, I got a 2200, which is like a C, but math isn't my best subject. In reading, I got........2400!!! Perfect score:D I got commended for my score. I always do great in reading, but I didn't know I would get that.

When I get a guitar, these are the songs I'm going to learn how to play in order(from easiest to hardest). Here they are.

1. Iron Man(Need I say more?)

2. Animal I've Become( I have to lean at least ONE Three Days Grace song)

3. Pretty Fly(A funny song with good riffs)

4. Lost Heaven( It's a good song by L'Arc~en~Ciel)

5. Go!, Colors, or Realize(all great FLOW songs)

6. Rolling Star(a great song)

7. Crazy Train( a must have for any guitarist)

8. Black Fire( have to have some Dragonforce on the list)

9. Rewrite( good song, and one of my favs)

10. Through Fire and Flames( one of my favorite songs, one of the reasons why I want a guitar)

That's the list:) Now, here's a vid of L'Arc~en~Ciel remaking  Motly Crue's song, Shout at the devil(the song was in GH). They did change a lot of parts up, it's like a new song.

L'Arc~en~Ciel

Tell me some other songs you guys want me to learn or try.

Yeah! I'm OUT!!!

It's official, I'm out for the summer!! It was an interesting year, with so many exciting things happening to me. I think tomorrow, since I'm going to have the house to myself, I'm going to chill and play some FFVI. I restarted my game over, because I messed up somewhere, but I'm fixing the problem now. I'm also realizing things I skipped over now(like how FFVI is a little like Star Wars, and has refrences to them).

I just finished watching the VH1's Rock Honors, where this year, they honored ZZ Top, Heart, Genesis, and Ozzy Osbourne. The new artists would play a tribute to the group by doing one of their(the honored band) old song(like Nickelback did Sharp Dressed Man since they were paying a tribute to ZZ Top). It was pretty cool. At the very end, Ozzy did one of my favorite songs. It was
Crazy Train
I really like that song:D

I was actually thinking of getting a guitar(an electric, to be precise). It was going to be an Explorer, Gibson SG, or Hammer. Here are some pics of the guitars I want to get.

Wish me luck on that:) Anyways, since it's the rock honors, I'm going to give tribute to rock by showing you guys some vids:D Here they are.

ozzy

eruption

Roses

Train (this should be in GH3)

That's my tribute, tell me what you think of them:D
