It's flippin' obvious.

They didn't include it because they want to sell you a Sony brand cable for $60.

It's the exact same reason Microsoft doesn't include WiFi - they want to sell you MSFT brand WiFi adapters at $100 a pop.

Duh.

Ok so you buy either a 360 or PS3 game for $60 but when you finally beat it or get tired of it you come to your local gamestore to trade it in. Than they give you only $25-30 for the game and resell it $55 just $5 away from a new one? I guess they making alot of profit on their used games.

Uh... yeah.  You might not have known this, but game specialty retailers make the significant majority of their profit from the resale of used games.  There's not nearly enough profit margin on new systems, games and accessories to support a retailer.

Their markup on used games makes the difference between going under and making a nice profit.

[QUOTE="Zerostatic0"]Wii Sports is probably the most important game in quite some time, it's defiitely having more of an impact on our industry then stuff like Gears, Zelda, or Resistence. I don't have a problem with people that don't like it, but people who mindlessly bash it and try to belittle it's importance are just ignorant.afdevil24

Ugh here we go again. Go out on the street and ask somebody what Wii Sports is. Their response: :? Why must sheep continue to think this game is so important? It has had a very small impact and the only reason why people play it is because it was free. I remember one sheep saying that it sold 5 million copies  Um because it came with the system maybe?! It's not as important as Gears, which is actually a true game.

Go out on the street and ask somebody what Gears of War is.  Their response: :?

On the other hand, you might actually run into somebody who's seen "That Wii Tennis game" on prime-time TV.

Wii Sports is far more important than Gears.  More people will play it, and it will be remembered for longer.

Five million copies is just the beginning for Wii Sports.

[QUOTE="thejakel11225"]The ps3 and 360 have advanced hardware which imo allows for a much better gaming experience. martin_f

What is different from last-gen? Other than upgraded graphics of course.

Would you rather have an Xbox 360 or an Xbox? A PS2 or a PS3?

Would you rather have a GameCube or a Wii?

Pssst.  Buddy.

There is no Next-Gen.  All consoles are released, so we don't need to go around parroting last year's marketing drivel.  At least not for another couple of years.

Only $500? Get the Wii, if you can find it. You already own two games and it comes with Wii Sports, so you'll have quite a few things to mess around with. You'll also have more money for discretionary spending this way - another Wii game, a VCS title or two maybe, and used or Player's Choice GameCube games.

If you were getting $600-$650 I would recommend the Xbox 360. But you really don't want Core, and the Premium + Gears will pretty much tap out your $500, especially if your state has sales tax. You might have to go into pocket to get the VGA cable. If you can find a bundle that offers a good deal with a game you want, you might think about that.

EDIT: Don't write off the possibility of two systems.  You can always get one or the other later.

[QUOTE="Darthmatt"]Well the wii remains sold out, so a lot of people must be happy with the price point.STABW0UND
yeah its the cheapest but at the same time the most over priced as in they make the most money out of the 3 for every console they sell

So?  How does that matter more than a fart in a dry wind?

I wonder if the DS Lite will ever get to the point where sales just nose-dive to the fact that anybody who was ever going to get get one, has gotten one. Zerostatic0

Have PS2 sales nose-dived?

Also, remember that you more often see multiple portables per household than consoles.

DS sales aren't declining any time soon.

Sony...the One and Only.

LOL! It's being outsold 3-1 by the Wii. And even better, zero titles in the top 10. Why would anyone want to make a game for this system when no one is buying the games. Flopstation3

bububububut teh Cell Blu Ray 4D graphics

axt113

well the Wii only has 7 titles in the top 50 :?

More than the PS3, and probably more than the PSP

Most definitely.  For March 12-18, 45 of the top 50 games were on Nintendo platforms.  This is not a freak occurence but simply the everyday face of an ongoing trend. Nintendo is very close to having an effective monopoly on the Japanese game market.
