[QUOTE="JB730"][QUOTE="Toriko42"] Word, the amount of multiplatform titles and exclusives the 360 gets which get 9 and above...I mean seriously. This is the first game to get above AAA since Brawl so I don't think 360 fans will suffer.
Hell, 2 AAA titles > 1 AAAA
cutmaclass1
quality > quantity, especially if you don't have much time to spare
playing the best game of the generation > playing 2 superb games
Not true at all. There thematic content of BioShock is more thought-provoking and ultimately satisfying from a narrative point of view than anything Nintendo has produced since Metroid Prime, which they didn't even develop. Maybe you all just play games for fun, but I play games because I believe they are an art form, a new wave of storytelling possibilities. Nintendo's games are good fun, but certainly they'll just be remembered as games, never transcending what outsiders perceive as the "stupidity" of the medium. If you want to play a game where your only incentive is to collect stars in lieu of a game like GTAIV, which makes the player ponder the ineffability of the American dream, then have fun with an experience that is no more fruitful than it was 25 years ago on the NES. There are far more important strides being made in the industry by an army of dedicated artists and storytellers, who makes beautiful narrative fabrics in addition to providing engaging and new gameplay mechanics. It's no wonder people think gamers are all socially-ignorant.you claim that the mario galaxy experience is no more fruitful than it was 25 years ago on the NES - as if the series has not progressed at all, as if mario galaxy is not the new standard for paltformers (as eligantly stated by gamespot) through providing gamers with a platforming experience unlike any other before. i got news for you: everybody who has reviewed this game from every single relevant gaming publication disagrees with you.
i've played and finished GTA IV. gameplay is very much the same as previous GTA's. storyline is shallow, does nothing that hasn't been done before in the many generic gangster flicks that the entire series has been inspired by. if this is your example of some sort of innovative artistic masterpiece, i would argue that gamers are considered socially ignorant due to people like you. as if GTA's critique of the American Dream is the least bit original - LOL.
it has been obvious from the very start of this generation that the most important stride in the industry is introducing more dimensions of user interactivity to make gaming more intuitive to use for everybody. nintendo has done a better job at that than anyone else, and they are the winners of this generation because of it.
maybe 5 years ago, many people considered gamers to be socially ignorant.
now, those same people who thought like that are starting to become gamers themselves. and you can go ahead and thank the wii for that.
