@JustinGoSka: Yes. There would be a complete disconnect from Empire Strikes Back if it is later revealed that Luke is gay, so I just don't see that happening. Mark Hamill is just being diplomatic on the subject so as not to alienate one group or the other.
It's true that people leave game developers all the time for a multitude of reasons. But so many important people leaving in a short space of time with Andromeda still a long ways off... It's a clear warning sign that things are not happy in BioWare-land.
Even in a universe where the original Ghostbusters didn't exist, this movie would still bomb. Nothing about this trailer excited me or made me laugh. It's going to be a disaster.
It doesn't take a survey to find out what consumers are saying about your brand. Either you're willing to listen to what your fans are saying, or you're not. It isn't hard to find the places where gamers vent their frustrations. Read what they say and act on it instead of releasing pointless surveys. If you don't already know what your customers want after all this time, why should anyone take you seriously now?
If a dedicated homosexual character has an important role to play in a story, and is not made to look ridiculous, it is perfectly fine to put one in. But if they are including a homosexual character in a story "just because", then that is not okay. That's called pandering. Please keep politics out of our stories and put in homosexual characters for the right reasons.
Graphical hiccups and slowdown is one thing, but memory leaks are another. A great many people - a lot of them with rigs better than mine - are complaining about gradual memory loss and eventual crashes when their RAM is pushed to the limit. People with a lot of RAM (around 32 gigs) aren't complaining as much, maybe because their playing sessions don't last long enough for the memory leak to become noticeable on their systems. Most of us aren't so fortunate. I can live with tuned down graphics, but fixing the memory leak should be priority one for Firaxis.
