@Elaisse: Actually, it does look like a hybrid of action RPG and menu commands from what little I have seen.

@ggsimmonds: They essentially ARE making a new game, because the original assets are far too old to be updated in a meaningful way. The only thing they're keeping is the core story and the characters. I think this is the right course to follow. Otherwise, there's no real point in remaking the game at all.

@Mogan: Agreed. They should have been faster. But it can be difficult to respond to something that happens over a major holiday like Christmas. Of course, Valve's technicians were working on the actual problem once it became apparent, but public relations are above their paygrade. I'm betting the people responsible for making those kinds of decisions were difficult to contact. Many were probably out of town visiting family.

It's unfortunate, but Steam and other gaming services need to have a PR team on call 24/7 and a hotline to the boss even on holidays to prevent these kinds of delayed responses from happening in the future. Hackers never sleep.

If Phasma believed that Stormtroopers should be put in the field sooner, then that should have been mentioned in the film as a direct response to what happened to Finn. Really, they couldn't have given Phasma a couple of more lines to explain where she's coming from? She had little enough to do as it was.

@Dredcrumb9: That's a bit harsh, but I agree that the overall experience was simplified more than it should have been.

@TheJamin: Attack of the Clones had huge potential, but was completely wrecked by a director who had no idea how to write dialogue. If any of the prequel films could have benefited from a different director, it was this one.

@BuzzLiteBeer: I ranked Revenge of the Sith just above Force Awakens, and I don't have the mind of a child. The prequels at least tried to tell their own story, and Revenge mostly succeeded on that point. Force Awakens took the easy way out and merely satisfied a checklist of Star Wars themes instead of boldly telling its own story.

@404FredNotFound: The prequel films are great examples of what happens to good ideas that are poorly executed. I also agree that my initial viewing of Force Awakens was enjoyable, then I turned on my brain when I got home and realized it was mediocre at best.

1. The Empire Strikes Back

2. A New Hope

3. Return of the Jedi

4. Revenge of the Sith

5. The Force Awakens

6. The Phantom Menace

7. Attack of the Clones

A prequel film ahead of Force Awakens? Really? Yes, really. While Force Awakens had great acting and was fun to watch, it was dragged down by an incredible lack of context. It tried too hard to be the anti-prequel, and as such, turned into a story about nothing. It felt more like a checklist of Star Wars themes rather than a story that could proudly stand on its own. The prequel films at least tried to be ambitious, and Revenge of the Sith mostly succeeded in delivering what George Lucas promised.
