I love Final Fantasy VII, but what is the point behind this re-release when most interested parties already have the game on PC? I don't think PS4 sales will be an accurate measure of how many people (it's a lot) want to see a true remake, assuming the purpose of the release is to gauge interest in the franchise.

Can't we at least get some improved audio from SE? It's not like a console version will support mods.

@Metallicwolf29 What would be the point of remaking the game under that restriction?

@Fastphase1 It may be that there are too many fingers in the pie, meaning that there is unwanted input/demands from Sega as to how the game should be made. That's only conjecture, but it fits with the messy nature of recent Sonic titles.

@JoSilver @bluefox755 For a game to get a 2, it has to have serious design issues of the type that can't be addressed by a patch.

@sladakrobot @Torvar72 They're following up? Really? That would be a major shift in reviewing policy if true.

No, this is about the most respectful and reasoned counter-argument I've seen in this entire thread. Well done.

@Metallicwolf29 I miss the 90's in general. The world was a much saner place in those days. :(

@savagerodent @Gosukusan Games are so complex nowadays that what you describe is all but impossible.

@Gosukusan Yes, one should have the objectivity to review the game itself rather than the state of its launch. This isn't 2004 anymore. If there are launch issues, then you should issue a statement to that effect and delay the full review. If things aren't fixed in a reasonable timeframe, then by all means give them a bad score.
