look at the top 20 best selling HD movies, most are bluray. they are bundling 4 or 5 movies with hddvd players to get more movies out there, and the hddvd add on pirece was almost cut in half at walmart cus they arent moving. i find it kinda weird they would cut the price of the add on cus it was selling so badly then they go out and buy millions of hddvd players. It matters not. In the US, Blu-Ray is winning. In Europe, HD-DVD is killing Blu-Ray.
Meaning: We are most likely stuck in a confusing, pointless format war that could have been avoided if Toshiba and Sony got together and ironed their differences out. I hope both formats fail to eclipse DVD to set a future precedence to future formats.

[QUOTE="MERC_RECONN"] seem to be the only 3rd party developer(so far)utilizing the power of the ps3. What are your thoughts?mdl207
Can't comment on Team Ninja as I've never played any of their games.
But Bethesda did a heck of a job in bringing a nicer version of Oblivion to the PS3.
It's amazing what companies can do when they actually take pride in their work as opposed to putting out trash as quickly as possible to turn a quick buck.
yeah i blame jade raymond[QUOTE="squallff8_fan"][QUOTE="Ryuhayabuza"]"...instead you offer Killzone 2. But KillZone 1 sucked before, so what made you think we wanted more ? "
what francises fist game sucked but the second game rocked ?

Devil May Cry 2 sucked and 3 made up for 2's lack. Killzone 1 was a great game, it was just overhyped, and for a game that sold 4 million copies, I wouldnt call it a bad game just because of a score gamespot gave it. The next killzone will be a success. It may not be a halo killer but one thing I did think the first killzone had over halo was the story and single player, was better. Just the game had alot of problems do to the hardware not being able to run such a game.
Thats appoximately a 5% attach rate, as opposed to Gears of Wars 40%. Not exactly something to be proud of. lemmings using the attach rate argument, maybe i need to inform you hardly anyone bought a ps2 because of the FPS games it had or shooters. people bought xbox360 for games exactly like GEOW and halo, its what the xbox fanbase likes. playstation fanbase likes racers, platformers, adventure, etc[QUOTE="Jack-Napier"]i have TBH the graphics dont look that great but the game seems fun. looks like a great PC game, mods to come, free online, better framerate, etc. gonna have to get this on PC.ragrdoll21I could care less about the graphics when the game looks that damn fun.;) well you would think they would update a little for next gen, it looks the same as CSS almost, thats why i rather get it on PC for the reasons i stated and texture upgrades like oblivion on PC got.
[QUOTE="lordseer"]This has always been a lame attack against the DOA series.
It's funny that people don't seem to realize that it is almost an extension of ninja gaiden in being a fighting game based on timing and intuitive movement and reaction time.
It doesn't try to present a challenge by remembering to push square, triangle, square, triangle, triangle, o, triangle, o, x, o, o. It presents a challenge by forcing chess like combat and reacting to what your opponent is doing.
When Team Ninja releases a weapon based fighter with an extension of the core gameplay of DOA, everyone is going to go nuts over it.
Team Ninja is developing fighting games on a whole different plane. As the series continues to evolve it is going to leave the other games in the genre in the dust, much NG has done the action world.
Sure it would be nice if Itagaki took some of the characters more seriously, and started to move toward more realistic character models but that's not him. He thinks himself a rockstar and his games reflect it. Why not also make the superflous claim that NG suffers from the same problem in that 1/2 of the playable characters are a large breasted female, in Raechel.

I'm sorry intellegent well formed opinions aren't allowed in system wars, say something extremely fanboyish like everybody else. :D
anyway alot of people are quick to dismiss DOA as a crappy fighter because it's fairly ahead of it's time in it's fighting system (which you mentioned being much more like chess). Most gamers dont' really understand the gameplay see the hot chicks and just assume it's a T & A game. Also the game tends to be really balanced at the higher levels, which you can pit any two character against each other and not really have a disadvantage besides your own skill.
ahead of its time :? compared to virtua fighter 5 the fighting system is laughable, i cant wait to see what the next gen tekken plays like, tekken is always the top tier fighter, tekken 4 was experimental and used a lot of the environment and some people didnt like it cus it was closterphobic, so they took it oldschool with tekken 5. i think they are gonna do a mix of both in 6 and i cant wait.but yeah you can pretty much button mash in DOA4 and be considered leet.
[QUOTE="Krigon"][QUOTE="The_Rick_14"]I agree with don't forget Capcom because of the Cellius project.
Another name that needs to be in there is Criterion after them announcing Burnout 5 would be built from the ground up for the PS3 and ported else where.
lusitanogamer
I thought Namco Bandai where the ones working with sony on the Cellius project.
Me too.
it is namco he just got mixed up, and i think when the other guy said capcom he is talking about DMC4 cus it was revealed to be running 60FPS 1080p on ps3, no mention of 360 resolution or framerate though. is ninja gaiden even at 1080p ? i thought that game is only 720/ 60 FPS
