I'll just post this here, at the age of 28:

Your perception of Lin changed pretty quickly.
Not at all. I like Lin, and would not mind him as my point guard, but if he is what stands between this team Lin/Harden/Parsons/Howard/Asik and this team Chris Paul/Harden/Parsons/DOESN'T MATTER/Howard Lin has to go...Oh alright, yeah that's a given. I read that wrong. I thought you were just looking to unload his contract regardless of who you really got in return.
I'm not convinced CP3 is leaving quite yet.
Howard leaving L.A for Houston would make things real interesting out West... But Harden and Howard on the same team doesn't exactly scream top contender to me. Idk, I guess its just something I would have to see to believe.
I would also like to see all the point guards return next year fully recovered and ready to elevate their teams. A lot of players will be working hard in the offseason looking to be the ones to uplift their team and knock the Heat off next year.
I don't see why the Heat would change much of anything. Maybe Samuel Dalembert is willing to take less than market price to win a ring, like Ray Allen and Battier were.No_Hablo_Ingles
Exactly, if the Heat come back with the same team just fully healthy then I still like our chances. But a servicable big man would really make me more confident. Bringing Birdman back would probably be a good idea as well lol
[QUOTE="Jagged3dge"]I was saying that because that money could be used to attract a somewhat reliable center. We don't exactly need an all-star center. Just a versatile big man that can box out and rebound while providing solid defense against a Hibbert. No_Hablo_InglesIt does nothing. Since you are over the cap, the Heat can only sign free agents using exceptions or for the vet minimum. It's not like you can amnesty Mike Miller's 6 million and give the 6 million you 'saved' giving it to a big man.
Should be interesting to see what course of action the great Pat Riley goes with then this offseason
I wasn't saying that in hopes of getting under the tax...

You don't amnesty 6 million dollars... that is a waste of the provision. If Wade's knee keeps failing, amnesty his 20+ million next year.No_Hablo_Ingles
Guys like Kobe and Wade will never accept being amnestied. And I guess rightfully so.

[QUOTE="CWEBB04z"] The Heat weren't lucky, the Spurs choked on a big 'ole ball park frank. I do think the Heat need to dismantle the big 3, form what I seen in this series, the team struggles with Wade, Bosh and LBJ on the floor together. When Wade and Bosh are on the bench, they start ballin. Riley should get a real C, and some sharpshooters around LBJ and that team would be the best in the league. Im not talking about scrubs like Cleveland tried. CWEBB04z
Giving the game away = getting beat. Doesn't really matter how you want to look at it.
Dismantle the big 3? lmao. They've been to the finals 3 years in a row, with back to back titles. They need to be trying to keep the team together. You shouldn't judge a team based on what you've only seen in a single series, cause you really appear ignorant. Wade is retiring a member of the Heat despite what happens any year any way. He's the face of this organization, and is responsible for every championship.
For the offseason, I think the Heat need to add a big body down low. I can agree with that. Small Ball was exposed this season, and the east has a bunch of teams that are really physical and capable of punishing the Heat in the paint repeatedly. I'm sure we can lure some centers or stretch 5s here now that the Heat have back to back championships to show for. Maybe workout Oden and see if he's worth picking up. He could be a steal like Birdman was.
I'll be mad if Riley wastes his time trying to sign more sharpshooters. He knows what this team needs and it certainly isn't that. We already have Ray Allen, Shane Battier, Mario Chalmers, Mike Miller, James Jones, and Rashard Lewis
Mario Chalmers, James Jones, and Rashard Lewis are sharpshooters?
btw, im not so sure the Heat want to pay a heavy luxery tax for keeping the big 3 together... im guessing it will be a pretty large number. The Heat need to add size and for that to happen, they need to trade someone.
Hell yeah those 3 are sharp shooters. Not only is it clear you don't watch the Heat, but I wouldn't be surprised if you haven't watched basketball since Webber was in the league...
Micky Arison already said he's willing to pay over the tax for a chance of making history. The man is making hundreds of millions off having this team anyway. They can make some trades yeah, but what I think they really need to do is amnesty Miller because his $6 million contract is ridiculous.
