@Daian @Jim_bo_bo Nobody said it was outrageous. They gave it a six for doing nothing different. I don't see the problem. Developers shouldn't be rewarded for taking zero risks.
Frustrating to see the "gaming community" so ready and willing to give a game such high praise for doing nothing original, and then bash the critic who dares challenge the notion that maybe a sequel should be slightly different instead of the same old, same old. Guys, she's not saying the game is bad. 6 ≠bad. As listed directly below the number, it's "fair." The review stated that it's just as good as the previous games, so if you liked the previous and are willing to play more of the same without getting bored, why do you care that she's critiquing the game for one of it's most blatant flaws? That's kind of her job. I commend Carolyn for giving her review honestly; a developer SHOULD be challenged not to make the same old, same old. More sites need to stop scoring and reviewing their games based solely on popularity and hype. Tom McShea is a hero for giving Skyward Sword a 7, honestly. It was a very fair score.
@withe1982 Number scores don't really mean anything. Most critics I know hate giving them a number value because of this. Just read the review, they're infinitely more informative than any number could ever be.
@sabretooth2066 You're right. GameSpot is one of the very few video game review sites that dares to actually give games criticism instead of reviewing and scoring based solely on the games popularity and hype. How dare they. Damn you, Carolyn!
