Wow. It's weird that the only TBS game that I really have fun with in a long time gets a 4.0 from gamespot. Does that say I have bad taste in games, or what?

I'm 28 and right now I'm wearing a ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead shirt. I'm not sweaty though!

1. I didn't swear.
2. the problem is that Microsoft used a stereotype of gamers that was insulting to gain the approval of a non-gamer audience. I'm not a fat sweaty cheese guy. In fact, I'm in great shape and I have a good job where I make a decent salary based on what I went to school for. But I am a gamer. And that's who's been insulted here. I don't understand why that's a difficult concept to grasp. If a stereotype of a group that you belong to doesn't insult you, that's great for you. But don't go on to then tell other people who are insulted by that stereotype that they're somehow deserving of it. That's not very great.
You wrote that you couldn't adequately express what was wrong with what Jason had said without getting moderated. Swearing would be one logical reason to be moderated, if you weren't going to do that were you just going to insult him throughout your post, were you going to post naked pictures of gamers that are in good shape as an argument? No, I was just going to say that he's overacting the whole "I'm not offended because I'm not a fat sweaty gamer!" thing because he was compensating for the fact that he is actually a fat and sweaty gamer, which would have been a tongue in cheek twist on him saying that those of us who are offended are only offended because we're fat sweaty gamers. But I probably would have been more insulting about it, because I tend to disregard people's feelings sometimes on the internet.

"How much? I could do with a bit of extra money" he said, as he wheezed and huffed, reclining his chair to a perilous angle in order to pick chunks of cheeze-its from the folds of his belly.
I find it funny that you came here to make a thread because you were outraged at what Microsoft said, yet you're pretty much doing the same thing to me.
And for the record, you couldn't be further from the truth.
I'm just kidding. I don't really think you're a fat gamer. And I certainly don't expect you to continue spending hundreds of dollars on my gaming products now that I've inexplicably raised prices for my services and insulted you.
But you did the same thing to me, sort of. You assumed that I'm a fat gamer because I was insulted by the stereotype that gamers are fat sweaty social retards. And I work very hard to stay in shape, and I stay social.

[QUOTE="Anjunaddict"] Because no one is attacking M$ for this? oh wait ...
Anyway, the people getting "offended" probably fit the stereotype to a t.

I would bet money that you fit the stereotype better than I do.

[QUOTE="JonSnow777"]\Microsoft used a stereotype of gamers
Jaysonguy
Microsoft didn't use a stereotype of gamers, they used a stereotype of a very particular gamer, one that minimal effort makes them sweat
Now that means that Kinect will not be for them
The idea that you used the words "Makes us into a joke" means that you identify with the special select number of gamers
Also did you ever hear of a freaking joke before? I mean the Simpsons have been using comic book guy for decades now and I don't remember too many boycotts because of it and I'm almost positive you've never posted about that "indignity"
No, they used a stereotype of gamers. And I have heard of a joke. Hey, you're fat and you smell bad. That's a joke so you can't be offended.

I find it funny that if Sony had said this than everyone would be attacking them...

Sometimes the truth hurts
If you're the guy who sweats constantly with Cheeze Doodle dust on your fingers wearing a Metallica or Winger T Shirt then Kinect is not for you
It's not an insult, it's not a slight, it's the truth
If you choose to align yourself with that demographic so be it

I apparently can't adequately express all the things that are wrong with what you said without being moderated for it, but I want you to reread what you've written here and sit for a while in a quiet setting and reflect on it. I think you'll emerge a better person.
