Because, for the most part, women are physically weaker and smaller then their male counterparts. Its the same logic behind why you shouldn't beat children. I don't understand why this is even a question someone would need to ask.
Que? What is a sided street? People might hate grammar nazis, but when fake words (payed) are used, it really does detract from what one is saying as much as a misspelling does. Using the wrong words changes the point you are trying to make (there, they're, their for example).

I have no idea where you live, so it may not be the same as here. But here Even numbers are on one side of the street, odd numbers are on the other side. I'm in Canada so it may be different elsewhere.
Houses are numbered in the US much the same way, even on one side, odd on the other. Side streets is typically where residential areas are usually built. Your statement would have made more sense if you had said the odd number side of the street.
