@neowarrior793: This list isn't about the consoles specifically though, its about the brand as a whole. Since Microsoft has its hands is so many things, important things, its naturally going to be high up on the list.

This sounds fun. I'd be more excited for a new Dragon Warrior Monsters though.

@neowarrior793: Then your point has nothing to do with this article. The article is about the top 100 most important brands, not the top 100 most important consoles. Of course Nintendo would be high on that list. I don't think there are even 100 consoles that games are being releases on right now.

@Sohereiam: 3DS was actually a pretty big success. It was probably the only thing that kept Nintendo afloat when the WiiU flopped, and it was because it was an improves version of what was already out there instead of wacky device.

@nourldean: Exactly. That's why there's so many sequels and remakes of old IPs. That's why the Xbox 360 controller is almost identical to the XB1 and Playstation console gas almost the same controller and every iPhone or Android that comes out is the same as the last with only slight improvement. People want better versions of what they already know and love, not some crazy off the wall product that they're completely unfamiliar with, especially if its something relatively expensive like a console.

This is even though Bungie promises there would never be microtransactions in the game. At least it'll fund future updates and its only for emotes, which only a moron would pay real live cash for.

Its funny that they charge for something so stupid though. Warframe, which is fully funded by microtransactios, doesn't even charge for emotes.

Also, Bungie said Iron Banner will be a full week. This is the second time gamespot misreported the length of the Iron Banner.

@ahpuck: Sega defeated itself with bad marketing decisions. The Dreamcast was an amazing system and way ahead of its time. It was just released at the wrong time and wasn't marketed correctly.

@Sohereiam: Its more than that. They aren't delivering products that appeal to consumers. After people realized that the Wii was way weaker than contemporary consoles and wouldn't get its own version of most third party games, Nintendo should have made their next console more traditional. Instead they releases the WiiU, which is way weaker than the XB1 and PS4 and has large, awkwardly bulky, expensive tablet type controller. Nintendo is too busy sucking its own dick and talking about their developers like they're gods to listed to what consumers want. Their arrogance was their downfall.
