Its a real shame, I want to see more exclusiveness for the PSP and I wouldn't mind if developers made games for consoles that were exclusive.themovi3nut

I'm a PC Gamer, and this statement offends me! ;)

All I can find is that the game/demo for XBox and PS3 were released a little while back, but PC was slated for a later release "TBA"... If anyone has a hard date for the PC, please let us know!

Not PC exclusive doesn't mean they won't be making the sequals. I think that would be a huge mistake. I didn't think the game was the best thing ever, but I still can't wait for the second and third instalment. What I wonder is whether or not the games will change the form/features of the game, or if they'll just be addons to the plot. Really hoping for the former over the latter. I think it would be an interesting touch.

Grinding in my opinion is when you NEED to do the same thing, for the same result, more than twice. I HATE grinding. Now, if you can do something slightly different or recieve random rewards pretty consistantly, in general, that is what I consider fun. The original Fallouts were like that, roam the wastland and have random encounters (they were decently random for their time).

Another issue I think that affects grinding is how the player feels about being unique. For the most part, any MMO I've played, the result of grinding is to be like the 1000's of players before you in your class. Some people like that, and go for that, I hate it... I want a game that makes my lvl 60 so and so to be vastly different from another guy's lvl 60 same class character because of the way I lvled up. I think that might help some people with their grind hate.

I can't remember who it was specifically, all I can come up with is Stardock (Someone correct me if I'm wrong).

BlackAlpha666

I've never heard about that story in the top. You sure you aren't talking about Starforce? Starforce was cracked by the way. I've only played Galactic Civilization 2 and Sins of a Solar Empire and both games didn't use any form of anti piracy protection.

Yep, you got it, it was Starforce. I know it was cracked, but it took quite a long time, and if I recall correctly required a great deal of effort to crack sucessfully. The most glaring problem was that it caused problems with non pirate operations as well. I just quickly ran across this site, just to prove our point here http://www.glop.org/starforce/

EA, I beg of you DON'T DO THIS!!! :P

Yeah, I think the problem is blow way out of proportion by a misunderstanding. It's not that nobody buy's EA games because they're being pirated, it's because most of what they turn out is crap! Or crap reletive to everyone else :P I would certainly play it if they were the only company putting out games, but they're not, so they get my left over attention!

1) It would be a scifi MMORPG with an FPS type combat system

2) Entropia Universe has a skill system that doesn't limit the max skill level, but you gain individual skill experience by using that skill, I love that.

3) Replay ability, randomness and per player unique game content...

I was under the impression that game companies had learned their lesson. I can't remember who it was specifically, all I can come up with is Stardock (Someone correct me if I'm wrong), that had a cd encryption program that worked nearly perfectly in detecting piracy, but it caused problems with the host computer and ALL operation of the CD drive. I think there were even problems in uninstalling it. This caused even more problems with their sales than the piracy, not to mention the investment into it in the first place. I think this was maybe 2-3 years ago, to help anyone in correcting me.

If it was Stardock, they've come full circle now with Sins of a Solar Empire having absolutly no protection. I believe that has worked to their advantage. I don't know specifically what EA is doing this time, but if they're going to lock a game after 3 unsuccessful key entries, or something like that, they're an even worse plague on the PC gaming industry than I previously though...
