I think anyone with extra money is going to have this problem. So many things today look decent. If it's not a problem for you, go ahead and continue! If you're not, my advice would be to heavily research the available games, pick the one you like best, go take a cold shower, go buy the game, and make a commitment to play the game until you beat it! Rinse and repeat.

Of course you need self control and determination to do this, but it'll save you money, and probably give you a better sense of gaming satisfaction!

Well, like the admin said, no game is ever PERFECT. Getting the highest ranking simply means that it beats all previous titles in the SAME genre(s) in all categories. If they think a game warrants that, then I don't see a problem with it. Of course if they're being superficial about it, that's not good at all.

I also think it's safe to say that this rating scale will not apply for decades to come, so something that gets a 10 today will not be as good as something that gets a 10 five years from now, that should be a given.

In the end, it's their system. If enough people disagree about that system, then the site will loose credibility and no one will care.

Hey, I found a closed beta that looks like it'll be perfect for customizers. It's an MMORTS, so it's pretty intriging already. It says it's "The first ever RTS that provides fully customizable units. You have the ability to design each component of every unit and facility giving you the ultimate power and flexibility to create your own strategy"

I'm going to try to get in and see just how good this is.

If you want to look go here.

Mine would have to be that fateful night some time between 1995 and 1997 at some corner store when I bought my first trial version of the original Warcraft, the RTS not the RPG. I got it home and installed it on my, now, ancient computer, and couldn't beleive how awesome it was. The next such moment was when I played Command and Conquer for the first time, not long after buying the full version of Warcraft. Since those two, I have played just about every decent RTS to hit the shelves. That little demo CD sparked my gaming carreir for at least a decade to come!

I prefer the mouse and key board. The only exception is in flight sims, then I use my logitech joystick, but that's it! Besides, playing a game with a keyboard will hone typing skills! :)

[QUOTE="fireandcloud"]there is no other game that's as next-gen as crysis.ct1615

what about "My little Pony the First Person Shooter"???

Well that would certainly require a next generation market, because somehow I don't think that would be too popular in this one:lol:

Well now that you mention Fallout (which is an awesome bunch of games that you should play at all costs!), I can't wait for Fallout 3. I'm just really hoping it's not a huge let down. Come on Bethesda, don't screw this up!!!

Every game Blizzard puts out is critically acclaimed by not just a few sources, but practically every major publication, often winning multiple game of the year awards from different sources, and every game they put out is a best-seller.

SpaceMoose

I think you hit the nail on the head with why Blizzard is still around. Since they're put out so many successful games, every magazine and writer in the gaming industry is willing to review and pay homage to anything they do just to make themselves look better, rather than the other way around, which is how it's supposed to work!
