I'm going to guess that the question is, because Spore is allowing such customization, will future games be much more impacted by player decision?
I would hope so, but I think Spore's release will be interesting to watch. I've heard some things lately about some more perverted or questionable creatures being concocted, but I'd hate for that to kill the game. Ultimately, I think most players want the ability to influence the game and arrive at a pretty much, unique ending based on what they did, their decisions, and how well they dealt with issues. I've certainly noticed more titles like this coming about. We have Spore which allows for a lot of superficial customization, but little interaction outside of AI, Beyond Protocol which allows for a lot of unit/building/play style customization, and plenty of PvPing, and AoC which allows for fighting style customization in an MMO world which has been largely neglected...
I know, those were three very different examples, but I think the consensus is that customization is on the rise. Huzzah!
Now hopefully, that does apply to the original topic...
Well, I'm more than a little perturbed that they are going back to WW2... But I guess I can't argue with this...
Oh come on, WW2 Japan has yet to be done right and there is a 5% chance Treyarch could do it rightToriko42
I suppose it's worth that chance, but Treyarch, here's the deal, if it's not, I'm not buying it! :P
The most different of all the original Fallout games was Fallout Tactics, that one's hard to find though. It gives you control of, I think 4 characters, maybe it's 6, it's been a while... It is still turn based though, so it may not appeal to you either, but really, give the game a chance! Most of us, I know I did, got pulled into it before full 3d environments and dime a dozen RTS's, but I can understand the lack of interest now. Wait for Fallout 3 hopefully it doesn't disappoint!
It seems like following the WoW steps.
There was no Arenas or PvP ranks when WoW, came out, and later on it was added.Creative
Ah yes, but a free update hopefully means that they might not be charging for future updates, like EVE. IMO, and not because I like reletively free stuff, although I do, this is the better business model, you get people to keep coming back with new content.
