@avery04 The problem was never storage. It's the game design. You can play a game on a small cartridge that has way more replayability than a AAA game on a disc.
I think the real problem is that last statement: the fact that these AAA games have huge budgets. When you have publishers like Square Enix saying that Tomb Raider didn't meet expectations despite having sold millions, there's a huge problem. Why does AC4 need 1000 people, when people can achieve high-quality games with a fraction of the manpower?
AAA games and the secondhand market CAN co-exist, but the publishers need to trim the fat. And like Reggie said in his Polygon interview: simply make better games if you're worried about the used game market.
