This must be a joke, anyone that has heard of me here at GS, knows my story. I have played a hundred plus Gamespot members (never lost to any of them yet), and plenty more from other websites. I am not going to brag about myself, but you are completely wrong, SF is my bread and butter since SF2:The World Warrior hit the arcade scene. I remember hoping and praying to god that it one day may come out to consoles...which it eventually did (Genesis and SNES). I was there before then, and those skills have taken me to some crazy events and places. That's all I got to say. SF4, I'm amazing at it...but it lacks depth. That's it. I've already argued this point in about 20 threads at GS, I'm not going to keep going. I get it, it's popular, people love it, and there is no point in me trying to argue over and over the same points here at GS. This type of thread will pop up again in 2 months, I probably won't even post. While it's a fun game, I find it limiting and boring, since I have skillz I can't even apply to the game. The game doesn't even have air blocking, alpha counters, different super structers (a-sim, V-sm,X-ism), check out Alpha 3, Capcom Vs. SNK 2 (6 different styIes), and SF3 to see what what's missing in SF4. SF4 plays more like SS2 Turbo mixed with SFEX3...and all these games I've won money at. I lived at the arcade scene.

Is it balanced? Somewhat, there is still top tiers...is focus cancelling a great replacement for what's been lost? no, not in my opinion...doesn't mean I can't wreck at the game, I just get bored of it. It's like going from Chess to checkers, It's simple to win or lose. It's still fun, but I'm thankful it's online at least.

You should get the first GOW, play through the whole thing, and play through the whole second GOW, that way when GOW3 comes out, you'll know what's going on.

They moved onto SF4 because it was new. It's not as deep as older SF and even the developers have said it. 2D fighters got too complex because games kept trying to one-up and by doing that, kept trying to get complex and the casual crowd was lost. That's why fighting games went into hiatus and that's why with SF4 they aimed to make it more casual friendly.

Bashing it for it's lack of depth is stupid. It wasn't created to be complex. That would be like crying about Tetris not being a third person shooter.

If Alpha 3 had online play everyone would hate it because it's a broken game.

ST > 3s > HDR > A3 > SF4

PS: I own the ME2 Collector's Edition for 360 and PC. I'm not a hater. I can just admit it's a shooter, because that's what it is. Dialogue choices and a story doesn't make it an RPG.
