There is still hope, there was a recent leak...I dont know all the details. But a list of 47 names were brought up from the valve deparment...And this small team happens to be working on Half Life 3.
@kamikazeespleen I chreated my character when the cloud was up last Thursday...I played for a while yesterday just fine, and I got timed out. When I tried to join again, it said the cloud servers were down. So I decided to take break. I come back a few hours later (when the cloud is back up) and my character is completely gone. So no, the cloud is just randomly losing saved information...The whole Cloud Server crap is complete shit.
It appears the problem isnt with the servers exactly, but with the cloud...The Cloud servers are complete shit. And we are expected to use this crap next gen? When all its good at is going down and losing your characters left and right?
@Dirk_McHardpeck And yet you seem to be forgetting that Both companies have been around since the beginning as well...games were also much simpler back then.
Its no suprised that there were going to be issues with this big of launch...but a few things are making it worse for players. For one The whole Cloud is complete garbage, its constantly going down and randomly deleted peoples characters...Then there is the whole NAT problems that have plagued consoles since they been out, cant play a game for no more than 15 minutes without getting timed out. NAT issues, and the fact that I have to pay to play online were the two reasons i stopped gaming on my XBOX.
@k3yb0arD @Kooken58 that is going off the price of the hardware today...by the time the thing is close to release the hardware will be cheaper. It is still a PC after all and that comes with its own benefits. Its more powerful, no need to pay an online subscription to use all its features..
@k3yb0arD @Kooken58 I was going off the fact that you said the Vid card and CPU alone was 500 dollars, which it is not. The CPU and Vid card are the 2 most expensive pieces. I personally think the lower end Steam machine will be around the 600 dollar mark.
@Senor_Kami the 660 ranges from 170-230 dollars. And the GPU is always the most expensive part. This is also a 3G VRAM card. Im pretty certain the lowest end version of the steam machine will be about 600 dollars.
@krystyla there is still hope though, there was a recent leak through some sort of database that showed there was a small development team of roughly 47 people working on Half Life 3 project.
