As with all the other Australians on this thread I find it hilarious to see people bitching about $70 games. I am absolutely sick of new games being priced at $100-$120 and ignoring the strength of the Australian dollar. I can't afford that so I never buy new games. If next gen games pass on the price rise you'd have to be nuts to but them. I can see them doing that though, yay $130-$140 games to look forward to.
@demonkingx5 So I'm a scrub because my friends aren't gamers? I'm quite sure lots of people still play split screen, it's easier. You don't need to set up four PCs in one house, it doesn't have to be planned, you only need one copy of the game in question, your friends don't need to lug a whole lot of kit around. I'm not saying that consoles are better than PCs I'm just saying they have their place.
@demonkingx5 What this logic fails to consider is the fact that a lot of console gamers, myself included, buy a console for local multiplayer. The Piston won't allow 4-player local so I'll still buy my console so that I can game with my friends who don't want to invest in any kind of gaming platform.
@da_chub That's basically what I thought. I thought anything you can get through Steam you can play on this. Although I do admit that I know next to nothing about PCs.
@Bardock811401 I didn't make it clear in my first post but my opinion was was on what was said in the article. Looking through other comments I see that the writers chose to go one way while the OP think they should have gone another. That said I would like to see a game explore transgender issues a bit more deeply because it might increase peoples understanding of them.
If a lessons been learnt here it's that I shouldn't comment on a game that I haven't played.
Great article. From reading this the game comes across as homophobic and transphobic. From what you've written the game seems to almost trivialise trans issues as simple confusion whilst saying homosexuality in undesirable. Had the issues panned out the way you wanted them to they would have really tackled issues that a lot of adolescents are secretly struggling with. Instead it just it goes the Hollywood road of "I'm scared of being rejected" and an unbelievable and unrelatable path of "I only present male because I like Sherlock Holmes".
I'd like to add that I am very impressed with the trans etiquette you display in this article. It's very rare that people are so well informed of the correct terms and pronoun use.
