Here It Is

After much labor and re-writing, I humbly present my Far Cry 2 review. Sorry for being late, but it was actually real hard to formulate all those gameplay details and opinion in so little text. As always, I consider my work utter crap, but feel free to reinforce that statement.

On the request of my friend SGTiD1NG0, I'll review both Mass Effect and Dead Space as soon as I can. I guess I'll start with the first one. About Bioshock, if the second part happens to come out before I analyze the first one, I'll do them both anyway. So no worries.

Sooo I just installed Far Cry 2... again.

Should I review it? It won't come off as a positive one though. Ubisoft are great at putting colossal efforts in games which come out crap. Assassin's Creed, Prince of Persia, Far Cry 2 again. They literally travelled for a few weeks to Africa to capture sounds and to create the visual design of the game, all for nothing. Same goes for Assassin's Creed, 4 years of extreme researching and new engine development, just to make another 10-minute innovation which repeats over and over for 10 hours. Prince of Persia, so much responsibility for reviving a once great series, got a magical design but failed at interactivity. We have never seen a non-railed game that plays itself. Before we saw Prince of Persia 2008.

So now, is it worth reviewing Far Cry 2? Give me feedback guys, please.

So my country was just declared N3 among countries with the most piracy.

The IDC Agency just calculated that the price of all the software pirated in 2008 was exceeding 50 billion bucks, that's 41% higher than in 2007. Mind, that's just software, not videogames as well. Among the list of countries with most piracy Georgia was N3. It sucks that I can't disagree.

I honestly believe that I'm the only one, at least in my city, who buys licenced games. Yes, it's that bad. People are actually SURE that downloading games and movies is legit, Georgia's only internet provider has 2 pirating sites up, with free movies and their own promoting advertisements. People don't even know what's piracy, and when they buy games for 3 bucks in jewel cases they call them "original versions". I'm not exaggerating, not one bit. Cave people, no more, no less.

When I tell people that in normal countries games cost 50-60 bucks they laugh their ***es off for about a week. Not that they're against piracy, they just DON'T BELIEVE IT, can you imagine that? They are sure in the righteousness of their actions when downloading 3 movies in a row. I tell them, go check the prices on some foreign website, but what the hell do they care. So I'm giving up trying to do the impossible and convince the dumb ****-s here what they simply don't know and don't believe. It's just so sad that I live in a city which looks normal but deep down we're still in the stone age.

And now, for the good news: 2 new emblems and an unnoticed level 9. I guess I should be happy.

I have serious hopes for Onlive.

First of all, it will eliminate the disgusting system wars and make gaming a united community. Most of you will say, System Wars is great, ok. Why? Because you always want to insult someone, someone who shares your hobby? That's bullocks. With a universal console the only "wars" that will remain will be basic opinions about games and skills. There will be less murders and crimes because of games. Whatever lawyers say("Violence in games affects children"), we all know that it's not as much violence in games as much as violence between themselves that makes gamers want to kill and commit crime in reality. Because I seriously see over-violence considering platform discussions, and I constantly meet more and more disfigured and dumbed-out fanboys(I understand fanboysm as a professional opinion, but often it goes beyond limits). Onlive seems as a great way to solving things up, and I sincerely hope that the devs will pull it off at an international level.

Just imagine! There won't even be bashings regarding Sony and MS: Because you will always be able to play on a Notebook which was made 5 years ago god knows where. And arguing about internet providers won't be a tendency for too long, because clearly Onlive will even further provoke the implementing of broadband internet all over the world.

And think about the games themselves. There might not even be sequels as such. On an isolated server, developers can in real-time improve and add to their games, andinstantly share the creation. Onlive will also most likely take over movie distribution, because if it delivers 60 FPS at 720p, considering the real-time calculations of keypresses, films won't be a problem.

There are also other companies like Onlive - which will probably introduce themselves on the upcoming E3. Like Infinitum Labs's Phantom console, which has been in development since 2002(Like Onlive), Acclaim's similar Gaikai system, another browser-based system called Streaming Worlds, or the OTOY company's mysterious project. There will be many of them, but Onlive has the broadest possibilities, and the greatest potential. But they won't be worth fighting over like consoles - They will most probably coexist, like search engines, with Onlive being Google.

And the future even further might introduce internet-based operations on phones, handhelds, maybe the micro-console will take over TV channels. Maybe onlive will become a universal mass-media source - who knows. But I sincerely hope, without being over-optimistic, that it will at least be a gamer uniting event.

Assassin's Creed, Transformers reviews and more Prototype thoughts

I reveiwed the good old AC today, because of nothing else to do stuck at home on a weekend. It came out pretty long, comparable to my Fallout 3 review. Be sure to check it out!

Apart from Assassin's, I also wrote a small ranting for Transformers: The Game, I don't know why I remembered it, maybe I just wanted to humiliate something or someone. Although I tried to be objective, the game is total crap, period.

And another thing. I watched the Prototype uncut opening cinematic yesterday. Damn, it's a crime for making me want this game so much. Crime!

Wolverine Review and some other things

Here it is. I actually wrote one yesterday, it was so big that knowing my text-compressing skills I just deleted it and tried to write a shorter one. You can see the result now. I guess I managed to point everythin out, the game did prove itself and is definitely worth a try.

And I just got even more happier when I discovered that the Deadpool spin-off was confirmed with Reynolds reprising the role. Man, is this real? A Deadpool movie? Looking forward to it!

So I recenlty got 2 more emblems. I caught myself yesterday ovetagging a little, and there you go. A result. And the Webby's emblem of course, thanks to Gamespot for such a generous description, But-umm... They really did deserve the people's choice, to hell with Webby's staff members :P

Also I'm planning to recommend myself in the reviewers thread soon, I guess I have more than 6 reviews and it would be nice for more people to rate them :)

That's all for today.

EDIT: CrrrAP I knew I would forget it :D I wanted to mention in my review how unnaturally long Logan's claws are in the game. I mean, do they even fit in his forearms? I won't bother editing the review though, it's a videogame thing probably... The bigger weapon you hold, the badder you are, bla bla bla...

I opened an album.

So yeah, the title says it all, I'm gonna post some spectacular screenshots and stuff like that. Oh, and Wolverine review, coming up in a few days. The game is awesome, but not without it's flaws.

Ok, I had to post this.

That mission variety trailer was the last drop. I HAVE TO pour out my feelings about how hyped I am about Prototype. The last moment - when they said that we would get to kill zombies with helicopter rotor blades - well, I just can't understand InFamous fans anymore. With all due respect, we all thought Radical was being paranoid, wanting to mix so many superhero powers in one game, but hell, I think they are pulling it off. We can now definitely say that Prototype has everything - Top-notch gameplay, intriguing storyline, no problems with mission variety, decent presentation(Especially since the devs made a miracle - 7.1 support on 5.1 speakers people! That's friggin impossible!), and god knows what else. This masterpiece is going to be the peak of action brawlers, sandbox freeroaming and zombie mayhem games.

And oh my god the fight with Hydras. Yes, nothin creative, but there was just something about dodging a car thrown at you while in a helicopter, with the transport whizzing past. And the stealth is great - yes, the AI even now seems dumb, but nothing will help them anyway against Alex - the way you become anyone, infiltrate, do missions for the military for your own good, play double agents in short.

Proto is gonna be the king.

Thanks for hearing me out, even if nobody's gonna read this. I just had to express myself. It was actually hard not to write this with caps lock on, and maximum letter size. So yeah. Thanks.

New Pics

I added a blog header and profile banner today, worked a while on them. For the profile pic I played a lot with colour and lighting, made the text blend in as hard as I could and softened everything up a bit. For the AC header I literally labored on the text, I guess it looks decent and organic with the pic.

By the way, don't expect any reviews anytime soon. I don't have any new games anyway, and although I went back to COD4 I don't think it's new enough to be worth reviewing. Let me know if I should change my mind about the latter.

I just reviewed HAWX...

Sure, I didn't complete it on all 100%, But at least I'm level 23 and have most of the planes. Campaign - beaten. So I guess there's nothing wrong with me trying to prove to all of the critics that this was not meant to be an aerial simulator. Sheesh, that's all, thank you.

EDIT: *Gasp* I just got lvl 40 today! Quick, maybe, but still worth the effort. Not that Berkut's that great, it maneuvers like mad but the visual looks make it crap. Oh and I downloaded some mods, and a plane pack, B2, EDI, playable Boeing-advisor(Oracle), funny yeah but it works. And tons of skins. I just can't get over this game, most dynamic flying arcade I have ever played. If I weren't trying to be as objective as I could in my review I would have probably given it a 9. and a half, if the mood would be good.
