Sorry, I probably didn't make it clear. I've played all of them, I'm just looking for something new / different. And BFKZ, I'll look into reviews of them now :)
I recently purchased the game Deadly Premonition; a game I'm sure some of you are familiar with. It has a really novel-esque feel to it, and has influenced me to start playing some of my other story-rich 360 games. Here's a list of the games I already have which are rich in story (in my opinion!), and I'd like some recommendations for similar games, or games YOU enjoyed for their powerful stories. Deadly Premonition, Alan Wake, Dead Space 1 & 2, Bioshock 1 & 2, Oblivion & Skyrim, Mass Effect 1 & 2, Assassin's Creed & AC2 & Brotherhood, Dragon Age Origins, Fallout 3 & New Vegas, Red Dead Redemption & GTA IV, LA Noire and Deus Ex: Human Revolution. I'll look into any and every answer, thank you. (P.S. - I haven't delved into any Japanese RPG / Action games yet, feel free to post about them too!)
I have several friends who've purchased Saints Row 3. The majority of the feedback I get is negative; apparently they've gone a little overboard with the level of immaturity in the game. This is the reason I wasn't keen on Saints Row 2 very much; I prefer a game to have more of a serious demeanor with a small level of relevant humour. Batman: Arkham Asylum was a great game for me - from start to finish. I think this has been transferred in Arkham City; a game which I haven't fully completed yet, but I'm enjoying the game loads. If you didn't like Arkham Asylum then I'm sure you won't like Arkham City; it's very similar (compare AC2 to Brotherhood and you'll know what I mean.) I've started playing Battlefield 3 as well. I've only scratched the surface of the campaign, distracted by the game's massive multiplayer content - I doubt many people bought it solely for its story anyway. The online is fun, very immersive and realistic - moreso than Call of Duty games in my opinion. The thing with multiplayer-based games though; they need to stand the test of time. Unfortunately, this didn't happen with me on either Halo: Reach or Gears of War 3. If you're sure you'll play BC3 for a long time, and won't find the multiplayer to stale after a few months - go for it. In simple terms - I'll give each of the games a little rating: Battlefield 3 - 8 (for now!) Saints Row 3 - 6-7 (from what I've heard!); Batman: Arkham City - 8.5
I remember back in around 2008-9, the majority of TES V rumours were placing the game in Elsweyr (home of the Khajiit if I'm not mistaken). I'd quite like to see the next Elder Scrolls game set here; a tropical / jungle-based map would be quite a change. The only downside to this, for me anyway, would be that most of the residents would inevitably be Khajiit, and they're probably one of my least favourite races. Another good choice in my opinion would be the homeland of the Orcs. Orsinium? I can't remember. Anyway, I think the warrior culture and hardened nature of the Orcs would give way to great stories; perhaps a division of main factions like in Skyrim with the Stormcloaks and Legion.
I haven't quite made 10 good game purchases this year; however here's a list of what I did get, and was at least 'satisfied' with at the time. Skyrim Dead Space 2 Dead Island Gears of War 3 Rage Deus Ex: Human Revolution Batman: Arkham City Battlefield 3
